As someone that only has 2 nerf guns, doesn't watch nerf videos, and has no idea about modding, this video seemed very professional!

I love how Hyper doesn't even get a mention.

What I feel Hasbro is trying to do is set up two completely separate groups for different ages, like the similar more easily operated N-series with cool looking shells and then the pro line for their older more hobby oriented audiences. And in doing this I feel like it’s a good choice, simplifying the ammo variety and honestly I don’t mind that the darts aren’t compatible with older darts because there marketing it for kids to have fun with it rather than actually trying to change the hobby standard

I really don't care all too much about these blasters... they'll be fun for kids. Nerf Pro being made into a dedicated series, however...

I've already been able to mod the Infinite to hit into the 190 FPS range on slightly cut down N1 darts where I removed the DRM nub. Funny you mention that they used a modded Kronos since the plunger tube of the Infinite is almost the exact same size.

From a game organiser point of view I find it annoying that I will have to maintain a 3rd type in my dart pool. So far I have been able to get by with elite clones and rival. Kids wielding an ultra blaster are a rare enough occurrence, that stocking ultra never was needed. If this gets the main push on shelves, odds are I will see kids show up with blasters that I currently have no way of providing darts for.

apparently the reason none o of these has slamfire is because of the decibel limitations on some countries, taking the slamfire out made possible for their blasters to reach more places and for me thats a valid reason

Is it weird that I find it frustrating that some are just willing to jump ship to N Series, abandoning Elite when it was just getting good again? I don't think that Nerf needed to change; they just needed to improve

And of course the darts have a rounded off head and are still not as accurate as Accustrike darts. They probably already have more accurate flat head darts designed and plan on bringing them out in a year or two when they need to hype something new again.

I posted something similar on the IG page, but i think it's worth repeating. If Hasbro is dead set on replacing the Elite dart with this (presumably) legally protected dart in every blaster going forward, then companies like Buzz Bee, Zuru and Prime Time Toys plus major retailers will have some hard decisions to make. Do they bet against this move and continue with elite style blasters and darts? Risk legal action by making compatible darts and blasters. Prime Time made a partial response with their Nitroshot full and half length darts, but can/will the Elite dart survive without Hasbro?

Nice to see a more in depth review including some background on the design of the system. It seems like Hasbro finally used modern design techniques to build a faster, more accurate and cheaper (at least the blasters) system while still meeting all the international safety regulations. The last few, hyper and ultra, just seem to be half asssed designs system wise. Even mega XL, although I love the sausage sized darts. PS nice 2 camera setup for smoother cuts. You always have the highest videography quality of all the nerf-tubers!

I feel like you guys are forgetting that Ultra and Hyper were marketed and purported as competition/older market blasters. These blasters are targeted towards a younger demographic, many of whom are just getting into nerf blasters for the first time, and the blasters thus far are pretty affordable for what they offer. Most kids play nerf at home with their siblings/friends and all share the same ammo. So if they make N Series a long running flagship series like they did with elite, then the concerns about “incompatible ammo” don’t really hold water. Sometimes you just have to sigh and recognize that not all products are meant for dart blaster enthusiasts like us

Honestly, the Sprinter looks like it's begging to have a half dart conversion kit made. Using the stock motors (which I'm assuming are the same used in Rival blasters and Ultra blasters) and standard AA batteries, it could be a good super stock option that doesn't get into crazy FPS. The Pinpoint is also a pretty sleek and elegant blaster too, and that is begging to have a sci-fi paint job added to it

I appreciate that the first 6 minutes of this video is explaining the reasons why these aren’t better. That being said I think the community is to stuck on this because we all still fondly remember modding Nerf blasters. The fact is that’s not what the hobby is anymore. If you want to buy something on the shelf that hits hard there are numerous options. If you want to tinker and build your own 3D printing or ordering a kit is the way to go.

Nice to see a 'tuber focus on the Positives instead of the Negatives for once. Even if the blaster's aren't meant for me, its a lot nicer to watch.

Best part of video was hearing how the actually design them and all the LAWS they have to follow/keep in mind when designing these TOYS. Ive already sensed a shift in attitude and less b****ing and moaning from many influencers. That was getting so old, just like hearing about them gushing over the newest way to expensive 3d printed im never going to buy and dont have a 3d printed blaster has gotten. Thank you for a really informative video. Ill probably start w the chain mag clip one for my boys.

I don’t like how simple the guns look, with older guns they included extra colors and texture, and these just look cheap.

The new darts aren't that crazy and amazing, but the blasters ads a lot better. I'm already in the process of modding a Ward to fire half darts.

I appreciate the behind the scenes explanations for Hasbro's design decisions with the new N1 dart line, and while I'm an older Nerfer outside of their target demographic I do like what they're going for with this line! At the moment all the local Nerf group games I play at are about 60% half darts, 30% full length darts, and 10% Rival rounds; and I like using drum blasters (the Tomcat, Villainator, and Alpha Auto 72 mainly) that I can top off and scavenge ammo for as I play so unless they become a very popular new standard I can't see the N1 dart blasters being a practical choice for me. However, it would be really cool to see a half length dart mod kit for the Infinite! It's an awesome looking blaster and that slim vertical drum magazine seems great, it just wouldn't be terribly practical in it's current form running a different type of ammo than everyone else on the field.

the little handle on the Agility is gonna be great for the 8+ audience, i used to struggle a lot as a kid priming blasters like the Maverick.

I agree with you, I am mainly interested in the flywheel powered Sprinter. The main reason for my interest is the fact that it is a Bullpup blaster and I love the Rayven and the Lynx. Have you had a chance to play with the new blasters from Siren yet?

Hi Luke. Greetings from the UK. Very much enjoyed your review of the Nerf N1 range. Checked online for a UK release date and was somewhat amazed that some of the range is already on sale here. These from a chain called Smyths Toys. Have therefore purchased a Sprinter, a Pinpoint and a 6 shot top load springer called the Strikeback. Build quality seems pretty sound but haven't tested the blaster yet. Seemingly it features a quasi recoil system. All being well will post further views later, although I have no chronograph to record velocities. All the best. Allan Woolston

My honest opinion on n series is I personally think this will come back to bite nerf if they don't start releasing more unique blasters like the infinite as the rest of the current line up at launch is very samey to what we've gotten before.

elite darts are just stiffer streamline darts, I own about 500 streamline darts and 20 elite darts, they are gummy and warped after all these years but if you want some for testing... xD

Dart "DRM" and blaster designed for 8+ is an unfair criticism. But the N series dart performs as well at a waffle tip so that is rather disappointing. I still think 90fps blaster for younger children is a good direction for the hobby

I appreciate the discussion about the regulations and constraints that Hasbro has. I've always felt that hobbyist in recent years have gotten too angry that a toy company didn't make products specifically for fully grown adults. I'm interested to try some of these out. Not thrilled about buying new ammo, but I understand why they went that way.

I do hope that giving it such an important name to this new series, as in N-strike when I was a kid, Nerf can keep this thing going

My mind went somewhere completely different when I saw "N-series."

This is actually super cool, my little cousins always wanna play with my blasters but they can't hold them up or prime them. These seem so slick looking. And in a way, it's nice they'll have their own ammo they can lose instead of losing mine. I'm jealous of the designs, they're very nice.

honestly, as much as i'm not at all interested in these blasters or the new darts, i wish they'd developed that chain magazine earlier for elites, it would have been amazing if the rhino fire had used an elite version of that, watching the two chains revolve firing from both barrels

One must wonder how easy it will be to convert the Sprinter to standard or half darts. Either way, I do actually like the way that Hasbro is going with these, not everything they make has to be for performance (even though these definitely are on the high side of their performance bracket) and its nice to see some newer design language as well.

That drum one looks a lot like a quick 16, one of my all time favourite blasters! I hope these do well, but yeah the proprietary hard to replicate darts feel like a shitty way to go.

i’m now noticing that the “elite” calaber between its reincarnations only last 12 years each… nstrike was introduced in 2000 and replaced in 2012 by elite before that to was replaced in 2024

If it costs me my hobbyist/enthusiast cred so be it: so far I've been nothing but delighted with N-series. The blasters aren't the most attractive in pictures or video but they grow on you in person, and the first wave of blasters and darts have been reliable, pretty accurate (yes, not as accurate as half-darts, but more than good enough for my fairly short-ranged purposes), and just outright pleasant to use and shoot. Prime effort is low, darts give off a very satisfying "pop" when fired that's way quieter than any other springer I've encountered hitting similar velocities, Smart ARs actually work well with these darts, and durability seems quite high. Also, it's obviously subjective, but I feel like the build quality is higher on these than a number of comparable Elite blasters (especially the Agility vs the Disruptor/Strongarm). I won't dispute that implementing "Dart DRM" is a nakedly anti-consumer move and that right now the darts are probably more expensive than they should be, but those aspects aren't severe enough to ruin my enjoyment - particularly since it's not like having N-series means I have to give up my Elite blasters and ammo, nor that Hasbro is forcing Dart Zone and X-Shot to change. Ultimately, I see it as just another option on the market, and more options are always good. Finally I would invite everyone to note that so far, removing the "Dart DRM" component on all but the Smart AR blasters is extremely easy, and the diameter difference between Half-Darts and N1 is so small people are already rolling out half-dart conversions. It seems likely most, if not all of the N-series springers are going to be jailbroken with little more than a screwdriver and $5-$10 worth of 3D-printed parts. Time will tell on the flywheelers. Bottom line: I encourage everyone to try them with an open mind. They're fun blasters - and isn't that what this is all supposed to be about?

I have these blasters and I think the Agility is the best of the bunch. I still prefer my Strongarm, but I think the Agility has the nicest compromise between price, size, and performance. I don't find the new darts all that more accurate than the Elite darts and certainly not more than DZ waffleheads.

The Infinite is just screaming to be used in HvZ. Hopefully, they keep up this value pricing and don't jack up the cost on subsequent blasters.

My main issue is the locks causing issues with the older worn darts. Also how tough are these darts it is no good if they get stepped on once and it is all over. Looking in the shops the price of these darts is obviously eyegouging although they are offering deals. I really do not see these as being better than ultra with the same design flaws.

We have a million and a half modded and 3D printed hobby blasters that are absolute nail drivers, and yet your comment section seems to think that this toy for 8 year olds is supposed to be for them. Genuinely, I think folks like you really need to start addressing the toxicity in your comments about toys.

safer darts are better darts, but "proprietary" is a joke. make it open, you should have to compete to make them cheap but also correct, everyone should be able to use safer designs.

If I go to a toy shop where I live, I will only find Nerf dart blasters, maybe X-shot dart blasters and no name ones. Ultra was never going to achieve better sales than Elite because of the cost of the blasters and of the ammo. They are trying to replace elite by making lower cost and price blasters and ammo while improving slightly the performance. The Alpha Strike was only lowering the cost. I don't have a problem with that. I want kids and parents to be able to buy an affordable, safe, fun blaster.
