I met my partner when I was visiting my hometown during Christmas. I was living 14 hours away. We went on 3 dates, and then I went back to where I was living. He pursued me for a year long-distance, and I never once wavered in my trust for him. He ended up moving to be with me after a year of long distance, and we have been together for 2 years since. I can't imagine my life without him, and I can't imagine a more pure and beautiful soul to be my partner. I never thought distance was possible until I tried it with the right person. Good luck to you both! ♡♡

BE OPEN-MINDED!! You never know how something will go. He could magically get a job in Chicago, or you in NYC (Deepti's man gets transferred to the States) who knows! Also, splitting time is actually AMAZING. I think it's super healthy to be your own individual before being stuck in one city beside each other 24/7. Sometimes that's too smothering and the expectations are too high and unmanageable in the same city. I LOVE splitting my time. I have a girlfriend from Canada (where I am from) and her boyfriend at the time was from Vegas. Every weekend, they would visit each other, splitting the weekends 50/50 (one weekend she would go to Vegas, next weekend he would come to Canada). They are now married with two kids and live in neither place, they got jobs in Texas and are living their best lives there!

I met a guy about two months ago while he was travelling through Sydney. He’s gone back home now to L.A and he’s just ended a toxic relationship. So im in this exact situation now. I know exactly what you are talking about. The situation is tricky, and you don’t want to get your hopes up at all.

My husband and I met online through a video game (we're nerds). He lived in Nevada, I liked in Illinois. We knew each other for a couple years. Officially dated 1 year. I moved to Nevada on 2018 and now we're married (for 2 years) with a kiddo on the way.

Natalie, from the sound of it, the connection you have with this guy seems strong and healthy. These connections don't occur often. I agree with Deepti on the fact that you can leave more space for compromise. Similar sense of humor and mentality are traits that are not easily found in the dating world. We never know where this fling could take you. It is good to have an open mindset. In my opinion, it is worth going the distance with this guy if the connection you have with him outweighs that you have with other men based in Chicago. I am a firm believer that whatever is meant to be always finds its way at the end. Let things flow and see where it takes both of you. You will be more than willing to compromise for the right one. I hope it goes well for you❤

We were together for only 2 weeks in Germany before I had to move back to the US (and Japan, and Australia...) for 2.5 years to finish my degree before I could immigrate to Europe, which was always my plan even before him. We were either thousands of miles apart, or we lived together, only those first two weeks were anything resembling normal dating. I moved in with him in Germany during the insane lockdown and that was our biggest challenge, combining our lives and ourselves in-person under pressure-cooker conditions. Now after a little over 5 years together in total, it's been amazing ever since the pressure-cooker died down, and we just got engaged last weekend

Go with the flow and your gut, you are both smart enough to know what is the best for you 🙏🏾 @Nathalie : don't overthink about the situation it's just the beginning, keep enjoying with this guy and keep your other options open. You seems to be smitten by this guy and it's great to feel it ! Enjoy the fling phase, take your time, no pressure. @Deepti : you already know the reds flags about this guy. When a man wants to catch up he will make everything to make it happen especially during the fling period ! If not, it does means a lot about his thought. So keep your options open too 🙏🏾🙏🏾 I'm supporting you girls 💪🏾💪🏾 By the way, I wish you could have made podcasts about the last season of bachelorette. Your opinions would have been interesting, maybe for the bachelor season ? 🙏🏾

Met my now husband on a dating app. I lived in NYC and he lived in LA! The convo needs to be had sooner than later about where the relationship is headed. Pandora’s box has to be opened and you have to ask the hard questions. Who would move? Would it be a permanent destination or is there a possibility of flexibility of location in the future? I ended up moving to LA and we’ve been married since April 2019! Have an open heart and do what feels right! Don’t look at your friends or societal norms.. it’s your life and you have to make the most of it for YOU 😊 good luck ladies!!

My husband and I were long distance for a year and a half while I was finishing up school. We had a plan for me to move and it wasnt easy. We both are independent people and like our alone time. It worked for us but I think you have to work hard to keep the spark.

Natalie, listen to me girl. If you know, you know. That's it. If the talk is easy, he's like your safe space... you bond with him... this is it. Trasfering etc it's not a problem if it's the right person. 5 years ago, I started seeing my ex's best friend as a friend (while being in a different relationship) and we instantly bounded. Now we'are engaged. I'm rooting for you guys.

Lol I’m so glad I listened to this. Been talking to this same guy for 2 months every day and he’s 5 hours away. I’m just like, what even is this and how do I got about figuring that out 😂 didn’t realize I liked him until I realized how much I looked forward to hearing from him and appreciated his small gestures of kindness lol. Glad to know my feelings and thoughts are validated but it SUCKS 😂

I love you two! My opinion on long term relationship - I havent had any and for me its about the character because I'm so physical and I need attention from my partner a lot! So if I'm craving for this, a whole relationship is going down and i think its a lot about in what phase of your life are you in, I totally understand Natali's opinion but I also see the romantic Deepti's side. If I had 20 y.o. I'll move for my love, if I have my life somewhere and I'm happy - i need to know its my soulmate to move for him😄😄 its hard... But when its not gonna work you can always go back to your favorite location. and also an opinion on publishing relationships from a person who is not visible on Instagram and is not a celebrity, its totally up to you! I would totally understand if you dont want to share that because some people on the internet are so toxic 😔 but you can read these comments and say I dont care, its just some random comments from people they only know you through internet and tv. 🙏 its not our business at all! Love and peace from Czechia 💗

I met my current bf of 2 years in our home state. When we met he told me he was moving out of state (~2 hr flight away) in 2 months. We just knew we wanted to be together so we decided to try long distance. Long distance worked well for us. The only “hard” part was that we missed each other. I was still living in my home state but always wanted to live somewhere new. So about a year into dating I moved to where he was. I think it worked bc I didn’t want him to move back, I already knew I wanted to move there. But, I think we would’ve been able to do another 6 months long distance before we had to seriously consider living in the same state. A friend of mine and her bf have been long distance for 3 years, it just works for them. Our thought was (and same with my friend) that if we aren’t ready to live together, no rush to live in the same state. We were able to visit once every 4-6 weeks.

I may be old-fashioned or just forward, but if I'm dating/talking to a guy who is pursuing me, I'm straight up about relationship expectations by month 3 or at least the 4th date 😌I can see prolonging that commitment talk if I was dating a friend & feeling it out. I don't like wasting time on someone who doesn't know what they want or they aren't serious about growing a relationship with me 🙄I think us women shouldn't be afraid of bringing up serious convos especially if you've been on multiple dates or you've been talking to a guy for months.

So a couple thoughts.. the thing about splitting time like Deepti was saying, is definitely a practical thing for relationships but if Natalie realistically wants kids and a family, those kids need and deserve one hometown where they can build lasting friendships with consistent peer groups. And the thing about the Bachelorette breakup, I think the “line” does get weird like Natalie was saying but I for sure agree that if you’re going to publicize so much of your private relationship, whether you’re a public figure or not, your fans/audience do have a right to have an opinion on it. They were invested, too. Also about you guys not being celebrities 😂 no, maybe not but you’d definitely have articles somewhere about anything you’re doing at any given time so I can only imagine how stressful that makes your decisions about what/when to post things. But I don’t think any of your podcast listeners would ever respond to y’all negatively, your core audience adores you both.

I was in a relationship for 1 year long distance and the second year I moved to his city that was 3 hours away. I moved in with him and seen him for who he really is. It was horrible. Turned out he was an alcoholic and kept it hidden the whole time we did long distance. He was also a major mamas boy. I didn’t realize how bad until I moved there. The worst experience of my life this far. I broke up with him after 1 year of living there.

@@banandababa ohh yes many 🚩. Unfortunately, I overlooked them. I thought he just had severe depression but I did not think he was secretly drinking. I was blinded by love and foolishly moved there earlier than I had originally planned. I should have waited to move- that’s for sure. Lesson learnt and now I am back home with my family & friends 😃

Ok ladies listen- it’s a serious relationship the minute you get intimate and have sex- so if a dude doesn’t want any serious then do not sleep with him because that’s very personal and we as women are NOT like men we can go around sleeping with men left and right without developing feelings or expectations 🥴so wake up- that’s where it’s at!

So I’ve actually been dating this guy long distance for almost 5 years now lmaooo and we both love each other so much. Have dated around and feel confident in what we have. We are planning to meet in September / October. I’m so excited if things go well we will plan to move in together sometime next year. You definitely can love someone with ever meeting them or really knowing what they look like (he actually catfished me the first 3 years but I let it go bc either I’m a dummy or I love him so much- he’s made up for it now) but with equal effort and consistency anything is possible
