I manned Bertha Hill in Idaho 2 years in a row right out of high school. Fought fires that were close to the tower. Best 2 summers of my life. Bertha Hill was the first lookout tower in the United States.

@@leftoids.are.cringe It was really good money for right out of high school. I have been traveling to all of the many lookouts in Idaho documenting them with photos and information. I hope to visit everyone before my body is unable to hike.

Amazing they filmed this at Sundance Mt. I manned South Baldy summer of 85. Sundance is an idaho state tower not forest circus tower. manning a tower there is no drama, long sleepy days and some chores now and then.

So the plot of the movie is the protagonist was abused, has PTSD and hallucinations, can't split wood or do most other survival things, and the fire lookout people were like, "Yeah, let's put her in a tower for three months by herself and yell at her every time she tries to leave." Huh?

Having spent time in a lookout (as a guest, not ranger), they are beautiful, quiet, and can test one's boredom. But this film never the less looks quite interesting because of the lead character.
