Dude was outside the crease. That’s one of the most crooked calls I have ever seen in the history of the NHL!

What matters is if he made contact with the goalie while the goalie is in his crease, even if it's incidental, which is exactly what happened. Had he not made that slight contact, the goal still would've gone in and would've counted.

@@ronsparks8136 this isn’t NBA, and slight contact did not impede the goalie from making the save… on the other end of the ice Sheppard was being physically shoved into the goal - no calls..

They could have just stopped the delayed penalty when the preds got the puck. This could have been avoided.

It's the correct call. It's not difficult to stay away from a goalie.

If this wasn't called, and the play was challenged, would the goal have stood?

The challenge would have been successful because the same goal judges would have looked at the same video and the same rule.

@@ronsparks8136 True but I was referencing the fact that even if you wanted to say it wasn't interference, Nyquist touched it up for Nashville before Ovi even got on the ice. It was never going to be a goal, people just want something to be upset about.

Not sure about the interference but damn sure about Toronto. They had no f'in right to make the call. Look at the frames when the timer is first displayed. Its first display is 59.8 seconds, WELL after the puck crosses the line. Under their own rules, Toronto had no right to even review the call (they could do so only if it was less than one minute left). WORSE, Toronto knew they shouldn't have made a call but went ahead on a close call and made it anyway. What utter BS. Their decades-long bias against OV, and their willingness to act on it, is just so OBVIOUS.

The clock says 59.5 at the stoppage which is what matters, meaning they don't just have the "right" to do it, it's their responsibility to, even if some time gets added back on the clock after. What would your alternative be? Grind the game to a halt for an automatic clock check, then inform the refs to put time back on the clock and the other team that there will be no automatic goal review? Why make everyone wait so long just to avoid performing a legitimate goal review? If the opposing team has a challenge they'll automatically use it at that point anyway, and if they don't their fans would be the ones screaming that they got screwed by having extra time added instead of the league simply doing a goal review.
