It is literally 2 days before Thanksgiving. I was having nightmares b/c our oven was not working and had these exact same "symptoms." Went ahead and ordered the part and our repairman arrived today, replaced the ignitor and voila! IT WORKS! THANK YOU THANK YOU for sharing this great info. Time to make the pumpkin pie.

As stated by some people below, the oven door comes off pretty easy by flipping up the tab on each of the two hinges then lifting the door straight up and towards you. Makes it much easier to get to the screws. Great video by the way.

Our Samsung gas range has been taking forever to heat up to desired temp and wouldn’t go past 225 last night. Everyone was closed today for Christmas Eve but I found BB Appliance parts in Mobile, who, for $50 bucks, will come open the store after hours and holidays for you to get parts so they were a “life saver” as I have a 6 pound rib roast in the fridge to cook tomorrow for Christmas Day. Repair was easy peasy and less than $100. This video is excellent!!! The front screw to my burning element was stripped like yours so it was a game changer to know exactly which size replacement screw to get. Thanks for this video!!!!

Excellent video that gave me the confidence to do the job myself. Only thing I'd add is to do like me and remove the oven door first, by just unlatching the hinges on both sides. That saved my back when reaching in to unscrew the pans. While I was at it, I unscrewed the panels holding the front and back of the door together and cleaned the glass. There's another YT video about that process for this oven.

Great video worked like a charm. One caveat , the screw underneath on the gas orifice tube should not be loosened, it controls the air shutter, tube comes off and goes on fine without touching that screw.

Same oven but watching this to get the steps. I ordered and received the part. My kitchen is similar to yours as well. Counter tops and styling pretty much the same so that color combo of your walls and the rest looks good for me to copy too. Pre-liking this video for the help even before I start. OK I am done, the whole process took maybe 10 minutes. Great job on the video. Same symptoms same fix. Oven heated up to 350 in a tad over 6 minutes. Gas and heat was constant the whole heat time while before it would be off and on ever second. Great job again on the video.

I liked the part of Dremel tool to cut a slot in "the exact same screw" in the front. I needed that so that when I stripped it out I went to get the stainless steel screw from Lowe's. Oven works great now...

UPDATE: Well, finally got around to it, after the OVEN took over an hour to preheat...and refused to go above 425. Hand trouble with the over bottom panel screws, Dremeled them and finally got the out (destroyed but replaced with new screws) and removed, heat shield screws put up a fuss, but got those out without the dremel (replaced them, too). I had the same screw issue you did with the front burner screw but got it to come out without stripping. From there replacement was a breeze. Put it back together, hit Bake, and it was to 350 in a couple of minutes. Boom! Kind of a dummy, I am, to have put off. It took me 2.5-3 hrs total. Messing with screws, going to get a few replacement screws, clean the dang thing while I was at it. Wagslick, my friend, thank you. Great video, i replaced the igniter but still had the same issue. It turns out the burner tube holes, some are dirty, and clogged, especially next to the igniter, I cleaned them with brass brush, and now its working perfectly.

Thank you! The process he outlined above is the same for the two-connected igniter modules. Apparently it doesn’t matter connector orientation.

Just adding to the list of thanks for this video. The only difference I found on mine was removing the warming drawer. There are plastic clips on either side that need to be pushed down before the drawer slides out.

Our oven was taking up to 45 minutes to get to 350 degrees. I bought an igniter on amazon for under $24 took it less than 1/2 hour to change and now it heats up in 5 minutes. We have been hearing a popping noise for some time, I found out that is a symptom as well as the slow heating. Thanks for the post.

Great video! I will say that the front screw on my burner assembly was not going to come out. I sprayed it with Kroil penetrating oil (Kroil usually works, good stuff) I hit the screw several times, heated it up with my butane torch and still it stripped.🤬🤬 So I went to Ace and bought the basic Dremel kit, the cut off wheels that come with said kit are not big enough to get a good slot in the screw. I finally just drilled the head of the screw off as much as possible and finished removing what was left with the little Dremel mounted wheel. So not a complete waste of $75 Other wise, easy as shown. Our oven is 10 years old so maybe that was why the screw fought me, it was rusted in.

Pretty good, but I wasn't able to get that front burner screw out either, striped the head off the Philips screwdriver. So I left it and just took off the igniter where it was, easily removing the nut or backside of the screws attaching it. Sure a little tight spot, but workable, nuts and screw came out easily, and when I dropped the nut or screw down, just had to pick it off the shelf underneath and try again. Used extension on a small socket and held the screw head with my finders. When attaching the screws/nut back on, To keep the nut in the socket, with a knapkin in first to jam in to keep it there, worked great, and don't have to worry about finding a dremmel (who has that) or hacksaw another flat head into that front screw. If you get it out, I'd recommend replacing with a hex headed screw that they should have put in. So you can get it back out with a socket that won't strip.

Good information. Thank you. I have owned many homes of my own as well as owning several rental properties. I can say, without question, that I have consistently had bad experience with Samsung appliances. They make good TVs and phones but not good appliances.

Thanks. Easy except for two trouble screws. Pain in the ass. When finished, it heated right up to 400° fast. It smoked a lot because of the WD40 type penatrating oil I used on the screws. Freaked me out at first. Needed a fan to clear the house. I recommend less spraying than I did.

Just came across this video. Broiler works great, oven takes forever to heat, as with convection part. Too burners work fine, separate ignitors. Could this still be the issue (ignitor) or does oven have a separate ignitors than broiler etc? I've never worked on them before.

I have an electric kitchenaid that the previous owner bought. It's so slow. I set the preheat to 350. So far it's been an hour and a half and it's bearly on 170.

Hello! We have a Maytag oven (2-3 years old) which was working fine until the baking element was burned out & broken. We found about the broken element when smoke started coming out of the oven during baking. We installed a new bake element that was supplied by the manufacturer. However, the oven would now struggle to go above 300 degrees C. It doesn't get red after baking started for 15 minutes and temperature hovers just below 300 degrees. We did the continuity test with the multimeter and the beep is audible for as long as we touch the probes on the element terminals. Ohm reading was between 16.3 - 16.9. We also checked the voltage of the oven's element terminals connectors with the multimeter and it reported around 119.x volts (we're in Canada). So it looks as though the oven is supplying enough current to the bake element? Could you let me know what you think the problem is with my oven?

This was a pretty good video. However, you were wrong about tightening the screw on the gas supply and failed to mention the access opening on back of the oven to access the electrical plug in for the starter.
