The lyrics have been translated and they say something like: "Where is the truth and forgiveness? Where is The Beloved one? Peace be upon you!” This piece can only be a romantic or devotional piece. The tone used by the singer, which is a common tone used by female Arabic singers, is for either romantic or devotional pieces. The tone used by the female singer is both devotional and sad. The context can be, for example, an Arab girl who has lost her beloved one, or a widow who lost her husband. It can also be said by a Mary weeping for the killing of her Son and Christ. This is how I hear it. Habibi means 'Beloved'; which is lovely as Scripture records God saying to Jesus as He comes out of the Jordan River " You are My son, The Beloved" (Matthew 3:16-17) www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew%203:16-17&version=NRSV The Greek used by Matthew was ‘ho agapētos’ lit. ‘the Beloved’. As I am sure you know, Jesus was a Jew and not only spent His early years living in Egypt but also much of His mission was spent in the Trans-Jordan districts, the Decapolis and surrounding. I suspect this kind of music might have been both familiar to Him and, more importantly, not offensive to Him at all. Quite the opposite, probably. Culturally, possibly very familiar. My personal relationship with Christ and God manifested as a first declaration from the divine, “I am The Beloved”, which is why I favour this translation of Matt 3-17, and why I was directed to choose this piece for the film. Certain voices resonate with me… I’m a woman but I feel the need to say that when I hear men talk about God and speak of scripture I feel the power (imo it’s intended to be that way). The Lord Jesus Christ has delivered me from drug addiction, homelessness, abusive relationships, evil spirits (yes they're real) , sexual immorality, swearing, lying, stealing, laziness.. and even more. I give all the glory to Him. All praise and worship belong to God. He is real. He is bigger than any problem you face. He will meet you where you are at. Even right now. (Romans 10:13) For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Currently I'm experiencing a demonic attack. But I am standing on The Word of God which says I have authority over devils and we are commanded by Christ Jesus to drive/cast them out. So I'm will continue to drive them out in The Name of Jesus Christ. Friends I implore you to do the same. The devil doesn't want us thinking it's real. We have authority over it! All of them. Keep strong in The Lord. Jesus Christ is LORD to the glory of God The Father. I bless every reader of this comment in The Name of Jesus Christ
