For those who don’t know the last part of the Simpsons sketch, it was based on the Abu Ghraib prison torture during the 2003 Invasion of Iraq, but the girl holding a chain attached to Apu is based off of a real-life soldier named Lynndie England. (There is an actual image of it so you can look it up yourself.)
