When I was framing houses 25 years ago, the company we used for excavations would load/unload the 270D from the side of their double drop.

You made loading that excavator look easy metal tracks climbing onto metal can get sketchy..

You ought tell the fire department if they want full service towing call plaza towing next the you will only deal with one tow service

That's interesting about the width of the trailer allowing increased weight capacity. Most states go by fore and aft axle distance so you have to go longer and add axles to add weight. That trailer would be considered a tandem trailer here so it would be limited to 34,000 lbs unless the distance center to center between the front and rear axle was over 9'6" which would allow 40,000 lbs.

Always unnerving for me to load our excavator on the trailer. I hate that rocking motion when landing on the flatbed. To combat that, I load backwards and use the boom and bucket to lift the low side even with the deck of the trailer. Great video Trent. Thanks.
