Overclocking The Dell Optiplex 745 With SetFSB

Using software to overclock my Core 2 Quad CPU from 2.4 GHz to 2.7 GHz. I actually enjoy this method of overclocking because you can't over-volt parts and damage them, Much like the power limitations in the BIOS of video cards, with the worst implication being the lockup of the system and forced restart.

I got to a useable 2.7 on my 755. The first time it locked up at 2.6, i rebooted then got it up to 2.8 and it crashed.

what does the bottom one do ? i use that to gain max clock speed but i dont really know what does it do, beside why does set fsb makes emulator or some games goes apeshit fast, like 1.25x the speed the're supposed too ?

just reboot ur pc , the oc will stay and timings will restart back to normal.

I have dell optiplex 745 also but core 2 duo is only at 1.8ghz. Every time I OC the current frequency to a certain point then it will freeze, but turning up the select frequency allows me to increase the current up more. So im wondering how increase current without changing the select frequency.

What I do is crank up the fsb speed by one point as well as the PCI frequency slider, I incrementally until it freezes, and thats the fastest it will go.

VideoAssasins25 I've never had a bsod, just the the mouse freezing and having to hold the power button down to shut it off.

I managed to get to 3.4 GHz clock speed on e7500 and it has clock speed of 2.93

That's pretty strong, those optiplexes that support the 45nm core 2 duos and quads can really crank it up.

Truly awesome video , but there's the problem I have that pc and running a q6600 cpu the matter is i am planning on getting gtx 750 - 750 ti and my misery was having a different clock generator , it's cy505yc56dt and didn't manage to get this one on this software neither clockgen May someone help me if possible to make it through this matter it's got me sick ! -_- (Sorry for my bad English as it's not my mother language) BTW :_ I am on tight budget and just intending to purchase the GPU so I beg You not to tell me to upgrade my Mobo XD

hey read this i can help u (maybe) -__- please download cpu-z and check the name of your mobo then search for that name in the readme file of setfsb. u will find the correct clock generator this way

Waow, so quick thank you for your video and reactivity, i've a optiplex 745 too, and i think i'm gonna bought a Q6600 and overclock it too :| So damned to have such a beautiful computer but with very few improvements possible. I have a Celeron E3400 that works with a 800mhz FSB, it does not accept it because it is not a 65nm .. I have to core2duo too but 1333 FSB so don't expect to work

The Q6700 2.66GHz is technically the "best" CPU to get, still a fast system for daily use, I want to upgrade but my optiplex still runs so good, I keep putting it off.

Yes, that's why I'm going to upgrade it, I do not know why but I like this computer. I will start by finding a graphics card and I think it will serve as "hackintosh" or pc linux (not windows because i've got a lot of computer and lot of windows ^^)
