Our amazing patients, Season and Jason, share their journey as a couple and as individuals navigating the medical system for treatment of mental conditions, chronic pain, and neurological symptoms related to upper cervical instability. This is Season's story; who has had an absolutely remarkable recovery after years of anguish due to full-body pain and joint dislocations from Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, as well as MCAS, anxiety, depression, and much more. Please check out Jason's story as well to hear how he set his mental health, marriage, and faith on a new path over the past year as he and Season trekked across the country in search of treatments that could help them: • Dissociative episodes ...
They are an incredible couple and we've been so blessed to be a part of their journey to health! We wish you continued healing and so much love!

Is there any correlation between ACE (adverse childhood events/experiences) and cervical instability? I'm noticing a pattern in several friends who are exploring various treatments along these lines so I was wondering..

The thing with instability is that you don't wake up one day with it, it is degenerative - happening over time and if nothing is done about it, it will continue to worsen. With that being said, there could definitely be something that happened in ones' childhood to have caused instability; a car accident, sporting injury, etc.

I had an intake with a chiropractor today. I have a reversed cervical curve. He didn't want to do an adjustment until after x-rays, but he showed me an exercise he wants me to do at home, which is to push my chin straight back and then arch my neck back. I could not do this well, as I got an absolute physical stop from my neck and a flushed feeling. As I continued to repeat the exercise, I had a dissociative episode. I was completely gone for about 30 seconds. I lost all connection to what was happening with me and around me while he was talking to me, like being lost in thought except that there weren't any thoughts and I wasn't in my body. It's like I blacked out. I didn't understand what was happening, and wasn't able to articulate my experience to him. This exercise also caused my visual disturbances to worsen temporarily, and my tinnitus to behave erratically. I suppose my question is whether this exercise is safe or if maybe my anxiety surrounding the exercise, having heard that it was a bad idea, took me over.

We have a curve correction program at our office that a lot of our neck patients are a part of. During their initial visit and those afterwards, we use our DMX to look at posture and curve. There are times where the position can trigger an episode as their body is not yet ready for that. They are given exercises and stretches to complete on a daily basis to improve curve, like weights or a denner roll. We cannot say if this exercise was appropriate for you as we have not see in you in our office - We hope this helps answer your question.

@@CaringmedicalProlotherapyWhy can't you give ppl a diagnosis and a treatment plan via video and email correspondence for a affordable fee? You have all my images and reports but being in Australia and not having a companion or enough money for both of us, you have stopped engaging with me and won't even give me advice about my condition. Your like a God Dr Hauser.... don't forget why you are a doctor

@CaringmedicalProlotherapy I've been desperate, asking Caring Medical if the chiropractic treatment I was receiving was appropriate as I was getting more symptoms, but Caring Medical won't help..... all they say is I hope you make it to our office one day and God bless.... thanks for the advice Caring Medical. Sorry but I already said i cant afford the travel expenses and in my condition, i can't fly overseas. Do telehealth if you really care about people

Could be! Everything in our body is connected and when something isn't working like it should, other things might have to compensate, causing problems that don't seem to make sense. You should check out our video on Hauser's Law! kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gr2FlsiVvsq3kZ8.html

We do not however, some of our patients have had success with self submitting! This is something you would need to discuss with your insurance company.
