As much as I love all the new personalities, these videos make me sad. I forget how many more pieces off wisdom we used to get from Dave. Plus, that father like feel where he'd give tough love, be more compassionate, and give almost motivational speeches.... Now it's like "whats the question, here's the answer, next caller" But back then, he used to give 15 minute + mini speeches and THOSE are what really changed my life. I'm so lucky that when I started listening in highschool and college, I got THAT version of the DAVE Ramsey show... the Ramsey show is fine, but just not the same.

@@therapywithisabelyes, if you go back in the videos a couple of years, you’ll see videos where it’s just Dave (like the clips in this segment). Back then it was the “Dave Ramsey Show” before he started gearing up for retirement and rebranded it as the “Ramsey Show”.

Well, one can only say the same things over and over and over before WE ALL get sick of it. 98% of callers: I'm 60k in debt, I earn 40k and I want to buy a lake side condo for 550k. Help me. Btw, love your show, been listening for years now. Yeah, that gets tiresome and obviously gentle parenting isn't working for most of these callers.

Sometimes a credit card debt can go on forever, 6k went on for 15 years. I kept saying I’ll pay it off but kept paying off the minimum payments. I pay it off already, now I’m debt free. Note, never help out families and cousins because they won’t pay you back and if you ask for your money back years later, they other victim and you’re the bad person for asking. Helping families and cousins got me broke and started using credit card. Lesson learned

Ditto! Helped several Family and Friends on credit cards because I didn't have the cash on hand but wanted to help. I did say to each of them that they didn't have to repay me. I took out a personal loan in the amount of $13k in August 2021 for five years. I just paid it off on April 1st, 2024 roughly 2 1/2 years early after throwing everything but the Kitchen sink at the debt. So happy 😊 it's behind me with just my Car lease to go at roughly $5500.00 leftover. I can't wait to be DEBT FREE! 🎉

The difference between my 2 children, my daughter figures out where she is and where she wants to be, then maps out a plan to get there. She is super successful. My son, in his mid-twenties, a couple years after college I had to sit my son down and explain the reason his little sister was so much more successful, since then he's changed his methods and he is also soaring. Having a target and a plan to reach that target makes the difference.

I started listening with his old clips and could NOT stand the repetitive callers: I have 4 kids, 60k in debt and I make 28k a year, I still owe 14k on my car and I want to buy a Condo. What should I do? Btw, been listening to you for years. Help me. And poor Dave would gently, calmly tell these callers to refer theBaby Steps...over and over that I got sick of it. @amireallythatgrumpy6508 lol, yeah I figured that. I guess I'm too young to know what housing costs were back when I was in high-school. I just want some hope that I can afford to buy a house by the time I'm 30 or so.

A lot of these calls are from years ago. The dude making around $7 an hour, or (15 grand a year,) you know 7 or 8 years ago, it's not too far off. The girl making $11 an hour with 6 kids, that was from 7 or 8 years ago.

Czarina’s call is pretty much my story soon. The only thing is my husband is completely on board and we are planning to have my parents live with us. My sister doesn’t want to help at all, absolutely selfish person, especially knowing how much my parents helped her including financially. When they (parents) sell all their properties in Europe they will have less than 100k total, and they will be getting pension from over there $500/m combined. It will suck, but i am a daughter that responsible for them. And i am not a total jerk as my older sibling.

I partly agree with some of this. It is a husband's obligation to take care of his wife. If the wife wants to support her parents, that is 100% her obligation, not the husband's. She needs to use her funds to take care of that, not the combined funds.

13:01 every dollar budgeting app 28:01 if you don't make a plan for a way out nothing is going to change -Im almost worst than all these ppl bc I'm 41; I thought bc I was more moral than everyone else that God would make a way for me!?! How terribly wrong I was about that!!! I thought to be more money minded was slimy and materialistic like a corny tony Robbins but now I realize that if you don't provide for yourself God isn't really going to do any thing at all. Maybe He might kinda give you some kind of open or opportunity but that never happened for me. It's just you against the world-the christians that say God "blessed" them were usually just rich to begin w/. But I'm totally stunned. I've seen the unexplainable so I know He's real but Hes seemingly not doing much of anything for a person's finances and that's startling
