@@AlphaStormMusic Yeah, I started guitar back in 2006. It was pretty hard to learn stuff at that time, information was so scarce. All you had was ultimate guitar tabs and guitar pro, almost 0 youtube content. Being able to play something like Crazy Train solo was almost impossible. Nowadays the information on youtube is plenty. You just need a metronome a guitar and watch some videos. Solos that I thought was impossible back then I think "wow this is so easy".

I take back any negative thing I've ever said about Steve Terreberry. I've never said anything negative against him personally, more the character. To see them as real humans versus the character they play on KZfaq is sobering. As viewers it's easy to forget that there are real people behind the camera putting themselves out there, just to entertain us. By putting themselves out there, they open themselves up to hateful remarks. Some remarks are from jealous people and some from people dealing with their own demons that use bashing KZfaqrs to feel better. Thank you for this video Herman, and thank you to Jared and Steve for being so open about such a sensitive topic. Going forward I'm going to spread positivity. If I have something negative to say, I will just keep it to myself.

Herman is absolutely nailing it on what he says about performing helping with anxiety. I'm a part time Twitch streamer with high anxiety and at first it was really hard for me. But after doing it off and on for three years, I've really found that it helps me face my anxiety and helps me do better outside of streaming. And his apology to Stevie is great.

True musicians genuinely talking about their own share of anxieties and overcoming it, giving each other a helping hand. I hope this vid also gets to those who say that people who got nothing else good to do end up vlogging on youtube. I'd like to think they just don't have an idea of how this platform helps some of them to become more of who they want to be and none of what others expect them to be.

Nice job guys. Super cool to see. I have dealt with PTSD and social anxiety/panic attacks since I was 16. I'm 29 now. I've had multiple incidents of freaking out thinking I was gonna die and then almost passing out, and sometimes actually passing out and waking up in a hospital. Anxiety is a very intense sensation. I've gotten a lot better since then, and even though I may have my off days, it's nothing like in the past. If I could offer anyone reading this any sort of advice, it'd be this: Remember nothing lasts forever. You may feel you are dying or about to pass out, but it's gonna pass, and you'll eventually be fine. Don't fight it, or avoid it. Let it come, accept it, and then let it go. Understand it's just anxiety,. Also, get exercise. Once I got into Martial arts and exercises years ago, it helped SO much. That and walking. Go walk a few miles a day on top of some regular exercise, and you WILL feel better. Again, cool video! Cheers guys.

It's really good to see public figures like these talk down to earth about the nerves and challenges they face; I think many people will benefit from this message. Key thing I'll say though is don't think you can fix anxiety just by pushing your body into anxious situations - that's not how anxiety works; work with a counsellor, do CBT, to retrain that reaction

It’s relatable to hear Jared saying how he’s pushed himself through into situations to the point of being unwell to experience opportunities. I’m not one to talk about this kinda stuff usually but that really hit home. I was so shy as a child and it never went away. I’ve always done what Jared was describing to make sure I get to experience life and opportunities and it’s so exhausting. Especially the socialising side of things when you actually love to socialise but for some reason your brain just makes it so complicated and tiring. I’m just grateful I’m able to live through it, despite the discomfort. I really feel for people with severe anxiety disorders. I don’t imagine they often feel they have the option to “try to push through and just deal with the consequences”. Thanks for talking about this guys :)
@ryanschindler923

As someone with severe anxiety disorder, I can say it is indeed very tiring if not impossible some days to try and push through it. I used to front a death metal band for years but I couldn't do that now-a-days. I haven't been to work in 3 months cause of my anxiety. And I have people say "can't you just, like, get over it and go do it?". No, believe me Iv tried. Maybe one day people will understand mental health more and realize its just as important if not more than physical health.

I love Twitch! It's like I got to eavesdrop on a candid conversation amongst colleagues. I really hope he figures out the Twitch thing, because it's kinda like YT, but the comments come at you faster, and you learn to power through your mistakes and practice working past the nerves. And, your viewers in the moment are all rooting for you to succeed. That's the gift you get when you are live. I wonder if he realizes that. Shrederrific Metal Trifecta!

Steve-T, I am sure he already has but see a psychiatrist for anxiety and he (YOU Steve-T) have been taking the same medicine for ages, there's definitely new things to try that would be worth a shot. Worse that happens is you go back to what you were taking. ... I guess this goes for anyone who could improve any condition and has been on the same medicine for years. You don't have to accept that as "as good as it gets". Check to see if and what new options are available. Make an appointment to talk about it with your doctors, specialist etc.

Elvis Presley was the biggest entertainer in the world, he was the first person to do a worldwide satellite broadcasted concert that went out to almost every nation in 1972, hundreds of millions of people saw that very first satellite event, that is his "Elvis: Aloha from Hawaii" concert where he is wearing that beautiful American Eagle suit. Elvis was just as nervous playing that show as he was playing a show in Des Moine Iowa in front of 10,000 people!! Before EVERY concert he would have an upset stomach, threw up several times, he wanted to back out of the concerts, his breathing would become erratic, he felt like he was going to pass out - but he pushed through night after night, year after year and he said that as soon as he hit the stage and saw the audience, all the fear and anxiety went away and now he was just singing to some friends. Steve needs to push himself to play in front of an audience and even though the fear may never fully leave, it didn't for Elvis, it will only control him if he allows it.

Stevie hasent been taking baby steps. I really cant see him playing live ever. Not wishing that upon him, i'd love to see him live, but I just dont see it in the near future. Huge shout out to Herman being a great moderator and apologizing for putting Stevie on the spot.

You are probably a very lucky person if you saw Stevie T live. It's great that he can be himself in his videos. I would like to meet him and talk to him about music, but I live in Russia, so this is unlikely to ever happen. (So sorry for my english) :)

Whenever I listen to DragonForce I remember SteveT's story, and get a little sad. I do hope he gets the chance to redeem himself. My advice: from experience I noticed you can control your anxiety to an extent. The more you "give in" and accept you're anxious and don't go out, the worse it tends to get. Kind of like you're rewarding your brain for bad behaviour. As Jared said, the baby steps do help to get out of your shell, and will help you to eventually overcome.

That's not how anxiety works, and Stevie doesn't have to redeem himself from anything.

I'll never forget when I met Herman in 08 after a show, and he shook my hand like he was the Queen of England. Like a dainty English lady he placed his hand limply into mine. It was so terribly awkward... but the whole band signed my jacket so it was an overall win.

Ya I too am struggling to fight nervousness, i thought it was the problem of the sound guy,that in one show ,my guitar was mute and I m playing while the people can't hear me..I started to sweat and shiver and my heart was thumping high and my hands froze even to play some baree chords... In one show there were lot of smoke and light and I didn't see the audience well and I was playing just how I was playing perfectly in my bedroom... I hope I can overcome this fear..
