OVERGROWN Edges So Bad Rain Water Couldn't DRAIN Properly! Overgrown Lawn Transformation

Today I am mowing a corner property with overgrown sidewalks and edges. I started with edging, then weed eating, mowing, and lastly blowing off the paved areas. This job ended up taking three days to complete due to the heavy rain.
All the overgrowth on the sidewalks and street has made it difficult for the rain water to drain properly. Once the sidewalks and street were cleared, the rain water began to flow better and cleared up by the end of the job. There was so much wet grass to be removed it took two trips to the landfill to dispose of it all.
The family that lives at the property was very grateful I mowed their lawn for free. At the end of the job I got to meet Peppa, their 150 pound pet pig. She was very strong and super interested in my boots! I was surprised how similar she was to a dog.

That has to be the most amazing transformation I have seen in a very long time. The water flows perfectly. You did it even when it was pouring down rain. You take a lot of pride in what you do good for you. Your finished work shows how much you care when you do your job. It looks gorgeous. Thank you for helping the people out. Best edging job I’ve seen on KZfaq. You did amazing… even disposed of the edging debris properly (many don’t on KZfaq-they chuck em in the yard and run over them with the mower). Kudos

He did throw edging debris on the lawn which was perfectly ok-it was dirt and grass. Many lawn guys do this. What he didn’t do-which was also correct-was throw the heavy top, matted turf on the lawn. This part would never be properly chopped up by the mower.

I see many KZfaqrs who throw an obnoxious amount of debris/dirt chunks back onto the lawn. I, myself, would never do that on a paying client's lawn. I mean, you can... it just looks like hell.

The place NOW looks AMAZING! The property owner has to step up. His mower was broken .... well the sidewalks and curb and gutter sure needed his attention. Those two were not done in a very, very long time. The place now looks like it belongs to the neighborhood. You did an AMAZING JOB and worked hard to get it looking nice for all that's for sure. 👍💯😎

Exactly what I was thinking! A broken mower & a few missed mowings don’t produce that kind of street/sidewalk overgrowth. You could tell by the back patio that it hasn’t been properly cared for in a long time. Hopefully they’ll step up now with this fresh start.

The sidewalk/gutter/driveway edging is the best part of the videos. I know it’s hard on you but for your audience it’s instant gratification and it makes such a huge difference. I’m glad they were grateful and showed it not everybody does. 👍🏻👍🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Cleaning the grass and soil out of the street and drains was so important! There has been an outbreak of malaria in the US, which is carried by mosquitoes that thrive in standing water. You may have saved a life doing this job!👍🏼😊

I lived in a neighbor hood about ten years ago and my house was between two corner lots. I had the same problem wit drainage as neither home owner kept up with the edging (Nothing like you just did), still very out of control. The city had came in and repaved over the old surface and dirt, mud and grass would fill in the gutters. I would have to edge mine and theirs just so water wouldn't build up in the front of my house and keep the bottom edge of my yard socked! I commend you on staying with it through the rain, what you did not only took care of the standing water, it also made a great transformation!

*PRETTYYYY GRASS.* That's the prettiest grass I've seen yet, on any video from other mowing channels too. They all have weeds galore in their grass, if you want to call it that. Certainly not polished lawns. Which I love, love.

YOU take the cake on this one. Most struggle tremendously on a edge jobsuch as this, taking more than 8 hours. But I've never seen it lift so easily as you did it when rain soaked. I know you got muddy, but what results! Wow. Impressive. ❤

Gardening in the rain is not fun, but I noticed you inspired two neighbors to get out and trim/mow their yards too. (Guess they didn't want to be the new worst yard in the neighborhood. ) I don't know what I am most impressed with: how much you got done in the rain or how much you improved the drainage.

Well done from the UK. It is very relaxing to watch other people do the garden (as a break from doing my own). The drainage clearance was great to see here. May be the owners can get out there with a spade regularly from now on
