We had the same experience in Oregon last summer, we experienced a record breaking heat wave, we reached 116 F/ 46.6 C for the first time in recorded history. In April 2022 we had our first measurable snowfall since 1936! We are, as you are, used to much milder conditions. Like you, we have many homes without air conditioning, people died. Be careful in the heat, I grew up in Florida and Texas, but it did not prepare me for Las Vegas. As a madman gardener, I was building a new flower bed when I realized that because the dry heat felt much cooler, I could easily have a sunstroke; it was 108F. Be kind to yourselves. Your irrepressible good humor and work ethic could do you in!

Summer in Australia all outdoor workers work from 7am-2pm, no later and lots of small breaks. In Queensland at night people without aircon, lay a towel on the bed, take a shower and lay on the towel still damp. My husband always carries in his work vehicle a 12 pack of water bottles. A great job, well done, you both deserve a pint.

Hello fellas! Watching from south Florida here. It's 91 degrees right now. I'm parked underneath the A/C vent as I type this. The oppressiveness depends upon the amount of humidity In the atmosphere. Anything say over 50-55% humidity makes it feel like you're wrapped in a wet wool blanket. Less humidity is more comfortable, but still can be extremely dangerous, so make sure you stay hydrated guys! Can you imagine having weather like this until November? This is what we live with down here. Anyways, take care guys!

Hi Alex & Gary, Very Good Job with that Heat of 40 C, we have had hot days like that in July this year, but then got cooler with rain! In fact this year is the weirdest of all years in Central Illinois, usually July & August is the Hottest of months & No Rain, but this year we keep having rain every month!! 29 C is where I like it to stop, but we have Fahrenheit here at 84 degrees...not hotter or I stay inside with the air conditioning on! Your 40 C would of killed me too, thankfully you had shade...glad you 2 finished & went home! Take care you 2 , Love from Central Illinois USA😊🥰

Great job as always! My tips for surviving an extreme summer w/o air conditioning. - cover all windows in house/apt so NO sunlight is allowed in - after tempeture outside is cooler than inside, open windows and run fans. Make sure to close up again before the sun starts shining in in the morning - if possible arrange with your clients to start work at dawn and quit for the day at noon - to get temporary relief go to grocery store, movie theatre or other location that is air conditioned Lay down in tub and turn on cold water of shower & let it wash over you If you have a car with a/c go for a drive (I used to go for a 45minute drive at 2am on bad nights)

I live in North Spain and our weather is mostly like the UK, lots of rain and some sunny days in summer (for the rest of the year just lots of rain LOL) with temperature low to 16 nights and up to maximum 26-28 midday. But this last week with the DANA (hot dry wind from the desert in Africa) we've lived 7 days with temperatures from low 23-24 up to 45-48 midday. And we're not prepared for that here like in South Spain, no one has Air conditioning at home just because we don't usually need it. So if you add that sanitary personal must wear FPP2 mask...it's been hell of a week. It finished yesterday evening and even if the night has been 19-20 and the day 28-29...it's been a great relief. So hang in there, get a good fan and stay at home from 14:00 until the night and you will make it!! Now we're waiting for some storms to clean the air a bit. Ahhhh great work! I think you left something alive on the right corner??? 🤣🤣 Joking, I really know how hard is to get rid of the ivy, I had to battle it for some years until I knocked it all, or mainly all. Maybe some here and there that is easily knocked during the season. Try to take care of yourselves! We listed one gardener in Madrid because of the hot temperatures (for real, he died) so be wise and leave whatever you have pending for the evenings!!

We have had those temperature here in Canada mainly closer to the states, But most around 30 to 35*c is our normal temperatures for the summer here in Canada. You run the risk of sunstroke in those temperatures, so make sure you wear sun screen and hats are good but they do not protect you enough. Make sure you take plenty of breaks and stay hydrated at all times and when it is that hot you have to stay out of the sun for at least an hour before going back out side. This kind of temperature can kill, so please be careful, Iced water is also a help to keep your core temperature from rising too high. Don't stay out too long or you will start to feel sick and disoriented then a massive headache, these are warning signs, so please listen to your body it does warn you that this is not a healthy place to be. it is time to go home and rest in as cool an environment as possible, i know air conditioners aren't as popular as they are here in North America but infront of a fan should help, Make sure you close your curtains this will help keep your homes or businesses from getting too hot. Do not open windows as you will be letting the hot air into your home. I remember the heat wave we had in the UK in 1976-77 and i couldn't stand it being too hot. We had really high temperatures in Nova Scotia when the tall ships were visiting Halifax Nova Scotia and i thought i was ok but then i got sick and confused i had to sit down i had some water and we left to go home on the bus. There is no where to park over there, that night i was sick as a dog i was throwing up for most of the night and the headache was so intense i had to go to the hospital that's when they told me i had heat exhaustion. i wasn't myself for a few days after that and today i listen to my body if i am out gardening i don't do it now in +23*c and i cannot stay out for longer than an hour or i get really tired and i get a head ache. Be kind to yourselves and listen to what your body is telling you it could save your life. As a Brit myself i hate the heat when the humidity is out with the high temperature i stay home and don't venture out for too long, the humidity is deceiving it makes the temperature hotter than the actual temperature this is when you have to be extra vigilant. Drink plenty of fluids and stay hydrated and stay out of the sun for long periods of time this is key to saving your life.

Then cut the top off attach wire or string hang it on the face of the fan and let the air blow thru(the fan must have some kind of cage to allow the hanging of ice bottles.) it will make you feel cooler for sleeping.

Awesome job considering the temperature. This is unheard of for the UK.They say more summers will be this hot 😫. As a retired medic I hope you don’t mind a little advice.Stay hydrated and move slowly, you will find it less draining on your energy.Put extra salt on your food as you’ll lose a lot in sweat and this will upset the electrolyte balance in your body also making you feel drained. Also importantly if you feel totally overheated but have stopped sweating seek medical attention as you may easily have sunstroke which can be life threatening. I know of 4 people who have had it already this summer and they don’t do strenuous work like you do. I appreciate you have a job to do but I’ve worked in Saudi Arabia (120 in the shade) and Iran mid their summer.Everyone moves slowly and do not go out between 12pm and 2pm.That’s when it’s hottest. Iran does have a winter with snow. Decided to stay indoors and read a book with the fan on.Ordered take out for dinner tonight and did all my housework after 10pm.

Highs in the 90's in Florida today. Not bad actually. Its hot in Georgia but its this humidity that makes it feel hotter this year. We're not used to that in North Georgia.

Glad that you guys finished up early and went home! Too much heat is dangerous! Learned something from this video ! I didn't realize that brambles were actually blackberries, raspberries, and/or black raspberries! I thought that brambles were only ordinary thorny weeds. Thank you!!

Great job, be careful with the heat, you could get heat stroke 🥵, drink a lot of water and mineral salt water. Even here in Italy it is around 40 for the last 2 weeks.

Be careful in this heat! It was 116°F/44°C+ in Oklahoma today. For 3 weeks now it's been 100°F +/-. No end in sight. It's getting very old! It's bad when 90°F feels cool! Water/Gatorade!!!

I would add the following advice about working in extreme heat: move very slowly! If you have visited places where it’s always hot, you will notice that nobody rushes about anything. Very important to do this. Drink water but appreciate that movement will deplete that water through sweat, plus a lot of exertion actually generates its own extra heat.
