Uchi Mata, Harai Goshi, Inside Trip (Ouchi Gari), Outside Trip (Kosoto Gake) Takedowns when you have an Overhook.
These trips and throws are among the most common takedowns in Wrestling, Jiu Jitsu (Gi and No Gi), and MMA when you have an overhook. This lesson will cover multiple basic scenarios.
1️⃣Part one will begin with the Uchi Mata throw. There will be extra time spent here breaking down different stages.
A. Entering the Overhook and throwing position
B. Off balancing
C. Completing the Uchi Mata
2️⃣Part two provides the option of the high impact Harai Goshi throw. This is a great option when our partner's stance is narrow. Playing off of our partner's stance makes Uchi Mata and Harai Goshi a strong takedown combination.
3️⃣Part three forms the game plan of attacking when we have both an overhook and an underhook aka the "over/under" position. We will begin with the inside trip as we begin to face our opponent.
4️⃣Part four shifts to a neutral chest to chest over/under position. From here we will look at gaining the upper handy via a front body lock and using the outside trip to secure the takedown.
