Yes, I have always found the key to "memorizing" the shapes and how they correspond to the pentatonics is which finger is used at the lowest tone root position. Get that right and your fingers fall into place almost automatically. Very well explained in the video.

Such a great way to map out the fretboard and see vivid color, the interconnectivity of all the simple, repeating note patterns. Now, extra credit, do the same thing, but focusing on the treble strings.

Understanding exactly this was a massive moment for me. Next was realizing that the choice of the ‘missing’ notes in pentatonic are what differentiates the various modes. You are meant to charge more for this stuff 😀

Caged is more simple than you showed.. play a chord, then play the next chord shape in CAGED so if it's a C you start with, play a Barre A rooted on the highest up the neck fret you previously touched, it's a C. Then play a G Barre on the highest fret you just touched that time, it's a C again. And so on and so forth. Works like that for any CAGED chord.
