Contrast with the wording on Sunken Citadel, which says "activated abilities of land sources" and therefore lets you use its extra mana to e.g. channel Boseiju from hand. In order to be able to pay for unearthing Phyrexian Dragon Engine, Orb of Dragonkind would have to say "activated abilities of Dragon sources" rather than "activated abilities of Dragons."
