I'm sorry but the towel take was horrible & just goes to show he didn't respect the significance of it in Vancouver. That whole towel movement started in Vancouver & has been apart of Canucks tradition for over 40 years.

corwin needs to know that the canucks invented the towel wave😵💫 never getting rid of it here in vancouver
@corwinmccallum1924Ай бұрын
Hahaha I get that I just mean that it’s always been a weird vibe in any arena for me in terms of the noise - but I get that it’s tradition in Vancouver, it’s more just a personal preference for me when I’m at a game
@matthewjudge3763Ай бұрын
Yeah it started with the Canucks coach, Roger Neilson, putting a white towel on the end of a stick to waive the white flag to the referee, so then the crowd started doing it.
@EnderSwordАй бұрын
While they were first in hockey to really do it, they certainly didn't 'invent' it, it was used by the Steelers for like a decade before that and apparently in basketball since like the 40s You can't say like, you invented it 5th.
@tonyborean2808Ай бұрын
@@EnderSword But there is a history to it. Its not just some meaningless thing like it is IN EVERY OTHER NHL BUILDING.
@EnderSwordАй бұрын
@@tonyborean2808 I guess 'the coach copied a thing a basketball coach used to do on the sidelines, so the fans then copied a thing like 30 others teams in multiple sports were doing already' is kind of a history, it's certainly not inventing it. It maybe explains why and when you started copying the tradition

Canucks originated the Towel Power in hockey. There's a statue outside of Rogers Arena of Roger Neilson putting the towel on his stick. it started in the 1980s so it's a pretty solid tradition for the team at this point that they're definitely not getting rid of. Everyone in the city loves it.

Vancouver is the only place it should be used. It started here with Roger Neilson in 1982. Sorry, that’s a bad overreaction.

By "started" though you mean started in hockey...stolen from Basketball and Football
@adamcottrell7885Ай бұрын
@@EnderSword no not stolen . Just look it up for yourself. There is an entire story behind it. It literally nis a hockey exclusive story and 100% had nothing to do with the basketball or football narrative.
@EnderSwordАй бұрын
@@adamcottrell7885 The entire story is the coach waved a white towel like a white flag, the same as the NCAA basketball coach that originated the entire thing. You can say you did it first in hockey, but you did the exact same thing in the exact same way with the exact same origin story as NCAA basketball in the 1950s It's not original, you're gonna have to come to terms with that. Explaining why your team started to do the unoriginal thing doesn't accomplish anything.
@adamcottrell7885Ай бұрын

Hey , he who talks without knowledge. The towel originated in Vancouver in the 1982 conference final against the Blackhawks when, after a number of questionable calls, coach Roger Nielson stuck a white towel to the butt end of a stick and waved it at the refs in surrender. The following game all the fans showed up with white towels and history was made. I'm sure if it happened in Toronto you would know this.

As a caps fan the best we can do is win a game or two. With the injuries we have and the fact that we are the 8 seed I don’t think we can win. That being said, would love to see you at least praise them to make it to the playoffs

I agree, as a Caps fan I feel like 6 games is the maximum, and that’s with a lot of stuff going our way which it just hasn’t been. Making the playoffs was a big achievement given the struggles, but yeah, we’re way worse than the Rangers, everybody knew. At least the Caps got wrecked and it was expected, they aren’t the Leafs that had some hopes and sucked.

My LTIR hot take is, leave the LTIR as it is, BUT as soon as a player is OFFICIALLY medically cleared he has 30 games to get back into the lineup or else he is healthy sctratch for the remainder of the season + playoffs! (30 games can be adjusted to see fit, if you think it should be 20 wtv) Still need a time frame to return to play or else you are not allowed to return. Im sure Mark Stone had at least 10+ opportunities to return to play and held off so he can enter playoffs over cap. Its bullshit rule. Also salary cap should matter in playoffs wtf is the point of salary cap if it doesnt apply to the most important period of the year...
