Hi everyone! I hope you're all doing well. Feel free to give any feedback/suggestions about the pacing of this video, as I realised that the previous video was a bit too slow paced and I tried to fix that in this one. And also here's the download link to whoever wants to try this challenge: www.planetminecraft.com/project/the-stronghold-challenge/

I enjoyed the slower pace as your voice really fits a more relaxing playstyle similar to my own. There is too many HOW IS IT GOING GUYS! type of Minecraft KZfaqrs who are too high energy for me ^.^

How are you going to get obsidian?! Person after person people try to find a way to get into the nether in similar challenges, but they just can't...
@Rovant5 ай бұрын
@@margiewhite677 If I get 3 iron ingots I can make a bucket. Then I can use the bucket to make obsidian from the lava in the portal room.

I was originally going to try to survive in a floating nether fortress but then I realised that it would be 100x better if it was a stronghold, because I could actually beat the game rather than just survive as long as possible.
@pinkraven44025 ай бұрын
Be careful with zombies! Hitting a zombie has a chance to spawn reinforcements and I'm not sure whether it even needs no light, basically it's a kinda weird mechanic that may be responsible for all the zombies coming from weird places randomly

"The most forgotten mechanic in the game." Bro, I LOVE fishing in Minecraft. I've worked my way up to a rod with the best enchantments from scrach and pulled some amazing books out of the water with it, including Frost Walker 2 that I proudly placed on a pair of diamond boots. I've made myself some of my most OP armor and weapons just by kicking back and relaxing by a river for a decent long while.

Maybe my opinion isn’t popular but the pace of the videos has been fine in my opinion. Just because the big “meta” KZfaq guys pace stuff way faster doesn’t mean it’s more enjoyable, it just gets them more money. The slower pace has definitely let us see the struggle and real thought process so we can truly ride this with you rather than having some fake script with no substance or value. Whatever you do, keep it real :)
@Rovant5 ай бұрын
Yeah I think being over the top isn’t the way to go and it’s annoying. But at the same time I feel like theres a balance between that and making the video too slow which might feel like its dragging. But I appreciate that you like the pacing of these vids!

Tl;dr, some tips I was thinking of for this unique challenge Instead of using torches, use half slabs and be sure the half slabs are at the right height to mob proof them. The mob grinder you made should be approached from a flat plane, so your height changes don't trigger creepers and skeletons to attack you. Make it so only the mobs feet is visible except one small angle so that you can lure them to you, then hit their feet forever without risking harm to you ^.^ Next time, also only use wood for crafting stuff, not building, wooden half slabs are a waste of wood for you, which you could tell at the end of the video was becoming a problem :/ A big goal is the water bucket (to make the portal), but to get it lots of zombies have to die. The problem is that using the cobblestone generator uses a lot of sticks, and thus wood, which must be preserved. To preserve your hunger, you simply need to avoid mining, jumping, taking damage, combat, and sprinting which will help you not need food. Obviously, run if you are in danger. I would use the string for fishing rods until you have plenty of food and hopefully the following fishing drops: 75%+ Food (edible fish) 1% chance for Fishing rod (also .5% chance for both string and sticks, unreliable, you will run out of fishing rods before anything else) if you get an enchanted fishing rod, things will get easier 1% Water Bottles (After nether, can be used to cure villagers) If you kill a witch as they are drinking a potion (harming them, wait for them to try to heal themselves, then last hit them, difficult to time though) you can get glass bottles/ potions as well, the golden apples however are going to be found in the nether If you get a witch, and a zombie villager isolated somehow, using boats, you could potentially cure the villager with a golden apple if you are lucky enough with the chest loot (even in the nether bastions or fortresses' chest loot). This can help you get end game materials to beat the ender dragon as you can trade your books with them. Wandering traders can get you saplings and even DIRT! So this would turn this challenge into a skyblock challenge if you are able to obtain emeralds by curing a zombie villager using a witch and a golden apple. The possibilities after that point are infinite! Getting to the Nether however, getting 3 iron ingots for a bucket to make a lava portal below your fountain (without messing up your cobble generator) is probably your biggest priority. So save the witch and villager for after unless opportunity strikes :)

man, you should run from creepers, if they suddenly stopped near you, that means they going to explode
@trye35215 ай бұрын
RIP mate! Here are some tips: Make a stonecutter to make more stone slabs with less. Follow Rika's advice, it's very great and useful. You can get additional string through breaking cobwebs. Keep in mind cobwebs are not renewable. The easiest way to get iron is bartering with piglins. Obviously you need to get to the nether first. Boats are broken af because you can trap from creepers to mini zombies to piglins brute, and they also keep mobs from despawning useful for the witches and zombie villagers to later cure those villagers. The most easy way to get emeralds is the fishermen because you can sell to him fish, string and coal from wither skeletons. That's until you get trees from the wandering trader. Try to avoid using wood in most cases! That's all i could thought of!
@Rovant5 ай бұрын
Thanks for the advice! I’ve actually just recorded the final part and I did take some of this into account, such as using the cobwebs for string and saving my wood.

Nice video ! Original concept (as far as I know) and great editing ! 10/10, definitely underrated If you try the mob room again, maybe you should use 2 iron doors to make a security airlock and reinforce the walls and floor with a second layer of slabs
@portalmastergavin6055 ай бұрын
I believe the mob grinder might’ve been too overwhelming because there wasn’t a lot of other places for mobs to spawn, I don’t know a whole lot about the technical side of Minecraft but iirc the way most efficient mob grinders work is so that there’s as little places for mobs to spawn as possible Not only does it give less places for mobs to spawn but it also encourages the game to “group spawn” therefore pumping out more mobs Idk if this will help at all but trying to separate things a bit more might make things less overwhelming, apologies for this lengthy comment hahaha Loved the video though!
@Rovant5 ай бұрын
That would make sense. This shouldn’t be an issue as I’ve found a much better strategy to kill mobs for the next video. Also I’m glad you liked the video!

I rly love this series & how chill ur videos are :) btw the creepers aren’t exploding because you’re too close to them; the skeletons try to shoot you, but if a creeper is in the way and the hit the creeper instead of you, then creepers blow up (they aggro on the skeleton instead of you lol) can’t wait to see the next video!!

Hey I know you said in the nether you can get infitite wood, but maybe to keep it in theme w the challenge you can only have the fortress in the nether?

@Rovant5 ай бұрын
Oh wow. I should have seen that coming. I don’t think theres a fix for this other than making the nether a floating nether fortress (because turning random structures on in the nether would require the overworld has random structures on) I’m gonna fix the nether after work today and then update the world file on planetminecraft. I apologise for not thinking it through and I’m glad you let me know. If you want, you can just replace the nether file on your world when I upload it. edit: the problem was now fixed! I think by replacing the file DIM-1 in your current world youll be able to get the new nether.
