Only viewing this now, great content as always! One question though : by distributing content to your read-only users through the app permissions, do you necessarily forfeit using RLS? In other words, if I want to use RLS, do I need to have everyone as viewer role in the workspace?

Is there a way to join 2 Tables on 2 or more columns in Power BI table1.x = table2.x and table1.y = table2.y ? I can only use one relationship in the relationship view.A second one will always be inactive. Thanks!

Hey Adam, Great video and thank you. Currently MS Teams doesn't support the new "APPS" security. Meaning......when I publish a couple reports in my app workspace to an app and then give users access to the app. They aren't able to view the data when I embed it in teams (they just see X's on all the visuals). BUT when I make those same users a member of the actual "APP WORKSPACE" and not just the published app..... then they can see the report in teams. Do you know if they plan on fixing this?

Thanks I enjoyed the video and learned a few things... but was frustrated with the instruction around timestamp 7:23 ... and the mentions of 'ISV' model: 1) The instructions around 7:23 were simply too quick... it was discussion, plus clicking through an interface I've never seen. Moreover, the interface has "Details, Content, Access"...it did not relate these menu items... nor the the live clicks ...to the earlier descriptions of Admin, Member, Contributor, versus Reader (I was lost at this point). 2) I have no idea what 'ISV' is 3) I left the video, not really clear on the difference between Member vs Contributor; or the difference in publishing an App vs publishing a Report (see timestamp 4:07). This may seem obvious to someone who knows a bit about PowerBI already... but for someone seeing this for the first time, some of the video just doesn't work. Wonder if you could consider re-recording it...?

I have a question with regards to permissions in a Workspace vs permissions in an App. I have five users who have access to a Workspace, two are Admins and three are members. The three that are members do not need to be in the Workspace as they are not creating dashboards or reports. I then create my App and give all five users access to the App. But when I remove the three users from the Workspace permissions list (using Edit this Workspace) since they now have access to the App, they no longer have access to the Workspace SharePoint site, which means they have to added back to the Workspace. I don't understand this concept. My requirement is that the three users should have access to the App and the SharePoint site but not have access to the Workspace. Is this possible?

They need to get that Reader role. That's key, so waiting for that as it was out, but I am guessing it didn't work as it didn't work for us as they had edit rights...PBIX's with live connections. We need reader role for PBIXs with Live connections to be able to view the PBIX's.

Hi Adem, got a question here. I have 2 modern app workspaces, one containing a data set that is refreshing 8 times a day. The second workspace contains a report that I created based on the first workspace dataset. I create an app based on the second workspace and distribute that to the organisation. I get reports from people not being able to consume/view the reports that were shared to them through the app. This is resolved for those users when they are added of the first and second workspaces... sounds like a bug if I listen to your videos on the topic (this is video 5 I'm viewing just to let you know). Hope you can shed some CubeLight on this matter.

When will the reader feature be out and pushed to the Government tenant?

Want to know if you can create sub folders in the app workspace or any workspaces in that matter. Eg if I have an HR dept and I want to create subfolders for recruiting, payroll etc under that HR umbrella , just so I can restrict the access to those specific dept. I dont' see that option and I am a pro user

I have a Workspace where I create business content, that I publish to an APP for the user in the business to consume the content. I have some users that want to be able to create their own reports. What is the best way to achieve this please? I do not want them to clutter my nice pristine workspace with their reports which might then get published to the businesss APP. I thought perhaps I should create another workspace with the same dataset to allow them to mess about as much as they like, but it cannot get to the APP. What do you advise please? Regards Adrian

Just to add, the new app workspace do not have usage matrices yet. Might come In Apr to Sep timeframe. That's kind of a blocker for now...

Aaannd then you raised more! :) So sounds like App Workspace is the answer to group collaboration on the datasets/reports/dashboards our group needs to create and maintain. Now, the boundary between Power BI Desktop and app.powerbi.com? Is only the initial development done in Power BI desktop and then the rest of the life of an app is online? Thanks so much!
