This is fucking hilarious. The game turned out to be massively underwhelming, then they just announced that it will in fact, never even whelm. What a shitshow. Imagine having as much money and creative power as Activision Blizzard and waste years of work just to re-release the same game "with a couple new maps and some new heroes" and a damn battle pass... Dunkey nailed it, very disappointing. I was only ever going to play ranked competitive anyway, but still... They overpromised and, they didn't even underdeliver. They delivered nothing.

What's really funny about this whole situation is that everyone called Blizzard out immediately on what was dangerous about Overwatch 2, made obvious recommendations on how to succeed, and what failure would look like. You could not ask for a more reasonable and sober feedback from the community. And then when Blizzard turns around and cancels the PVE, they try to sell the decision as if it was made for the consumer's benefit. "We really want to give you the best Overwatch experience, which is why we're going to do the thing everyone warned us not to do."

He brings up Destiny briefly in this vid; it’s funny how well a mode like Iron Banner in Destiny 1 did this exact thing, “tricking players into playing as a team for selfish rewards.” It was normal 6v6 Control (cap objectives so your team earns more points on kills), it just showered you in exclusive weapons and armor at a higher rate than normal PvP modes. (Since Iron Banner was a periodical special event). Now, in D2, Iron Banner is stingier in giving loot than Raids currently are. Like... how. Why.

An upgrade from csgo, and that's one of Steam's most popular. Better than the battle royale craze too. Or the survival crafts. Good balance of skill and casual charm. Though its monetization is horrid and gameplay gets stale (still less than csgo though, since you can at least change characters).

Actually, it’s an exploit! In design, a glitch is when something doesn’t function as intended. An exploit is when something functions as intended, but is used in an unintended way by the devs. Mario warping to world -1 is a glitch, but Mario farming 1-ups from a turtle shell is an exploit. The more you know!

I’d argue that Dunkey’s succinctness is his greatest strength. Yeah, he’s hilarious, but when he’s communicating his ideas, as much as I agree or otherwise, he does it so effectively and in a way that makes complete sense from all angles consistently

People are nostalgic of it because it was fun because it was broken. Nowadays, people just strictly follow the meta even in casual game modes of every game.
