It's a real shame how paladins doesnt have as much ressources as aaa companies. The dev put so much care and tought into the game, they listen to their community much more then overwatch ever did. There is new seasons every 3 months with new and fresh original content. The caracters are getting more enjoyable and polish every updates. The item shop, the loadout and the talent system still is really original, fun and unique. The anti-healing mechanic, putting a concept of early to late game make every match feel even more different. You have to adapt more, to strategize what items you are going to buy against different comps, champion, playstyle, etc. What loadout is better, like do you need more health or speed or dr or some unique effect a single card can give. In my opinion, it tends to be more enjoyable than just switching to counters every game... Also, the mouvement implanted into the game leaves room for great and exciting caracters like evie, bomb king, ruckus and so many others ! Don't get me wrong, i like overwatch too and find myself enjoying it pretty often. But i feel like overwatch 2 might be the sign to try new things and give little games, like paladins (despite it's unpolished design) a chance. I've never enjoyed a game the way i enjoyed paladins because i tried it not thinking it was just an "overwatch rip off", or stopping myself to the flaws of it, or it's bad reputation. I play paladins for what it is: a remarquable, unique, fun game. ( Sorry for the bad english, it's not my first language).

Also let's not forget, before the health changes in overwatch, snipers would be obnoxious to go against, while in paladins snipers I believe were never meta, and we only have 2 snipers in the roster of over 50 charscters

also, mauga is literally just raum, only the ult and the fact he has 2 miniguns instead of 1, did blizzard really just copy it????

other thing to point out: even tho the Paladins open beta came out months after OW, Paladins already had closed alphas and closed betas back in 2015, it was a different game back then yes but most of the content was already there.

Very well structured and intelligent! I personally found it insightful as someone who has bounced back and forth between both Hero Shooters, only to settle on Paladins in recent years as my favored game. Overwatch is fine, but as a casual player, Overwatch seems so daunting and trivial at times with big-downtime between the action. It's very funny to see that the Overwatch community simultaneously hates Paladins, and yet also deems their game a dumpster fire. One thing I think would have made the video slightly better is the intro, while it hooked me, I felt the introduction to Paladins bit was a bit downplayed by how long it took with only the Paladins music playing. Hugely underrated channel! Love your doodles, very adorable! Take my sub!

Honestly you should do a video essay on why paladins mechanic worked better for it than Overwatch, how Overwatch 2 failed to balance the game base on the tank meta from Overwatch 1, and balance nightmare of OVerwatch 2 tanks and healers

Honestly, I can't trust Blizzard to make anything good anymore. They messed up a good thing they had going, and got extremely greedy. Arrowhead Games did the complete opposite with Helldivers 2, making everything available without having to worry about FOMO or locking things behind battle passes. You can get everything in the game without having to spend any additional money as long as you grind enough to get them.

I think Overwatch 2 could add a speedboost when leaving spawn while the objective is a certain distance away. Though I think they should increase the respawn times to balance it out. Regarding healing in both games, but especially in Paladins, I've never understood why there is a cauterize when they could've just reduced healing globally.

Dont forget, wrecking balls borrows similarities from pvz gw2 citron with the ball morph, and now venture is basically just a less suicidal chomper.

For the longest time, me and the boys always played Paladins even though we all owned overwatch cause it never had crossplay (until way after, and most people had moved to pc by the time everyone wanted to play overwatch again) Yes there were some really rough times with Paladins (azaan release made us quit for over a year) but I can say most of us enjoyed the game a lot more then overwatch, I just wish Hi-Rez cared more about it too

Paladins is very different from Overwatch and was always different. No switching heroes mid-game, items and bigger maps.

I have followed overwatch for a. Sad amount of time in my life. And from 2016-2018 I practically played it non stop. Then it just stopped getting any meaningful content and was so dull. But hey not long after overwatch 2 was announced. And they had YEARS to work on it. So like I was super excited for it. And after we got echo then got. Literally nothing for ages. I wasn't too upset since overwatch 2 is coming! They must be putting all their work towards it. Then after years and years of them working on it non stop. Beta dropped. I got in the beta and uh. It was overwatch.? Nothing different. Same maps..same everything but now with 2 new heroes. But it was only a beta so I didn't think much of it. Then the game actually came out. I cannot express how disappointed I was. 3 new heroes. 1 new gamemode. No PROMISED story mode. No new content. I was talking to my friend about it when it happened. And my exact way of describing overwatch 2 was There's less content in this whole game they've worked on for years. Than a single Fortnite season. It was just sad. All these years for nothing basically. But hey now lootboxes are gone and to get any skins you have to give blizzard all your life savings. What a great change... And I've periodically been playing it still. Checking on it throughout the seasons. And getting nothing basically. Maybe a new game mode once a season in the arcade which 9 times out of 10 are a play once never touch again. Then the overwatch grand story mode thing dropped. The missions. Jesus Christ. How disappointing. It was literally just an event. Like uprising from overwatch 1. I did them all once and have never felt like I wanna do it again. Overwatch 2 is really just. Overwatch but less. But hey. At least we get a hero every 2 seasons :) That's just something I wanted to share. Just the disappointment of overwatch 2. 8 years of this game existing. And it has hardly improved minus new heroes and now bastion is a car

Once again, Overwatch 2 is FAR from being a dead game. A game that can get you in a match in less than 4-5 minutes is not dead, or dying. Look at Titanfall 2 instead, with queues ranging from 30 minutes to 2 hours. Now that is a dead game. Overwatch won't die for a few more years for sure

I don't know exactly what they did, but they succeeded. Ow2 feels like a proper free-to-play game. It feels less like Ow and more like a clunky generic shooter about robots. It's a downgrade for sure. I get that new players love Ow2 and I can't blame them. They just didn't go through the premium experience that was Ow1. I feel like it's suffering from the same illness as League of Legends, being touched by the Chinese and turned to shit.

I'd say Paladins definitely does some things right that Blizzard would be too scared to do but thats just cause they have NOTHING to lose lmfao. In every aspect paladins is just worse overwatch, I still play and enjoy paladins but theres no arguing that fact. There isnt a single Champion design in that game that is even close to the quality of an Overwatch Hero, they make up for some of it with lots of customization and a lot more Characters but it does not compare at the end of the day and their playercount proves that.

Paladins was in development before ow itslef. Paladins is not an imitation of overwatch itself in the cover ofc you can say its a clone but it is very different from ow, im a paladins player turned to ow2. Paladins had very big potential to be better than ow but the original devs had to leave and the new devs fked it up. The sea region is almost unplayable for 4 years till now..

Mounts can't be in Overwatch cos it would feel weird/out of place. TF2 doeesn't have mounts. COD smalller maps have no mounts etc

The PvE was a mistake from the start. Overwatch is decidedly moving in the direction of competitive games, and if thats not what you like, go back to playing Helldivers. Overwatch 2 has enough changes to deserve the "2", especially now in Season 9. 5v5 a massive change Macro and Micro wise. 9 new heroes. Passive and hitbox changes. Transition to F2P model. "Why my Orange doesnt taste like Apple? Blizzard sucks ass. My Orange is Dead!! Why anybody would like Orange if it doesnt taste like Apple"

if u think pve killed overwatch then u did not play ow1 for long enough. this games been dying for years, ow2 was just an awful ressurection of what excited us as players at the release of ow1. i wish paladins was the one to be in the spotlight since blizzard did not deserve it.
