i think thats because its an interactable object and they want players to be able to identify it easily. keeping it familiar looking is the best way to do that.8

@@palindromia130this doesn’t work because both in game turrets, the teleporter, junkrats rip tire, hanzos dragons etc, all have different forms depending on skins and everyone can always tell the difference everything in ow has such a unique silhouette that different skins for them don’t end up mattering the fact they can’t give skins the same quality you got in ow1 is ridiculous. orisa doesn’t even have a unique spear model for her skins and that’s a core part of her kit as well

The "hard light" weapon skins didn't make much sense, but at least they looked unique. From what I can see, the "jade" weapons simply look like green versions of their default counterparts, unless I'm missing something.

hardlight was perfect for a weapon skin to earn. also it never shows up in the shop seen people with hardlight skins but even if i wanted to purchase them (i don't) they never show up lol

That is a new rank icon. Whether it's a new rank, or just an updated platinum/diamond rank icon, remains to be seen. (journalists, take it away) I think this is a redesigned Platinum icon, rather than the Ultimate icon. But of course, we will see.

Im pretty sure thats just a redone plat icon. I imagine they must have redesigned all icons along with adding a new one (theres no reason the highest rank in the game would mirror the plat icon)
