Don't mean to get too analytical here but it feels as if she so self aware of her lack of skills that unlike Jack who's just beyond caring, mercy was able to actually pull of something so basic as moving her shoulders side to side but still added that flair (float) to give her moves a taste of her personality. Add in the occasional clap (because mercy can actually maintain a beat) and you've got a decent dance emote.

lol. even then her lore wouldnt make sence. she became esport champ at 16 and went undefeated for 3 years(this part can be taken out) then joined meka corp. pretty sure overwatch didnt start back up right after she joined. according to blizzard she played in movies which im guessing takes more then one 1 year to make after she joined meka. its mandetory to joined the army in korea for a few months adding everything together her actual age should be at least 20-22 after Overwatch restarted... that being said if what i said is true, blizzard make her act way younger then she is.your theory would make more sence if she was from somewhere else

Actually Solder's dance is from one of the Dev team. They tried to make it a "Dad" dance and demoed what they thought it'd look like. And that's what they went with.
