It is actually cannon (with even voice lines in the game) that the blue soilder and red demo are best friends, they met at an explosive weapons expo and started hanging out and fishing. The comic War shows this. I would recommend reading the comics, if you want to react to them you can do a live reading or there is many dubs on youtube of the comics (the beard is my favorite) with the last comic even having a dub by scouts voice actor

Demoknight actually doesn’t use the bottle typically, he equips a shield in place of the sticky bomb launcher. All the shields have a charge ability where you charge straight at your enemies at high speeds.Demoknight can also choose between a variety of swords that each grant their own unique benefits. It’s typically only good to equip a sword if your pairing the shield with it. You can also equip a specific pair of boots in place of your grenade launcher for more health, the ability to turn more while charging with the shield, and some more benefits.

Modern games have progressively simplified mechanics, and many titles now have their own versions of demoman wannabes; but TF2 was the one that taught me the art of landing pipes, even on airborne targets Most Dredge players in Paladins can't land a single shot with his 'pipe launcher' primary fire and will substitute his other abilities as their primary method of dealing damage, for example. I think most older v'games just had higher skill floors you had to grasp in order to be competent at the game. Older than TF2 was Quake Arena, and that was even harder to master, so the rule still holds true

The sticky bombs are his secondary, they're remotely detonated explosives that stick to surfaces, fired from a launcher with 8 shots before needing to reload (which takes a while, one at a time). The grenade launcher is his primary weapon, can fire four shots before reloading, and each shot can bounce off surfaces. If it hits directly they explode on contact with an enemy, otherwise they have a short timer before exploding. Two separate weapons.

@BUMMY105
@BUMMY105 Жыл бұрын
1) Junkrat is BASICALLY a watered down version of Demoman -- which is one of the reasons why there was beef between the two games when the Overwatch Beta was announced. his pipe launcher is equal to that of the iron bomber unlockable that came out about the same time, while his mine jump pad and his bear trap were safer but less powerful versions of the stickybomb launcher. Junkrat's ult is a more powerful pre-nerf version of a troll subclass called the caberknight -- in which you equip any shield and a melee weapon called the "Ulapool Caber", charge at the enemies, and hit someone with the caber to let them explode. Before the nerf, the Caber could create an impact radius that can kill a huddled group of people, so Junkrat's Ult can easily be inspired from the caberknight concept. 2) You REALLY need to look into the extras for this "How it Feels" video, since a lotta stuff for the Demoman was put into the extras as Lazy himself was just too unqualified to talk about Demo's subclasses and playstyles like Demoknight. He puts a lot of information for the Demoknight in the extras, so it's highly recommended for you to look at. 3) You should react to the comics! There's the voice over dubs made by "The Beard" that basically puts the needed vocal expressions in the comics, which makes the comic much more engaging. Or you could look into the Shork voice over dubs in which he got the original voice actors of the TF2 mercs to do the voice work of some portions of the comics. It's a really good idea to react to the comics, especially since it ties a lot of the in-game story and official Valve SFMs into one coherent game lore. You don't even have to do all 31 of them, as the 25 mini comics are just update comics that DOES expand the lore, but are mostly all covered by the catch-up comic to the main "TF Comic" series.

The reason Scout is so good against Demoman, is because he struggles in close-quarters combat in general. Because his stickies have a fuse time, he can only really use his grenade launcher at this range, which also deals self-damage. It’s just that scout is best at close-range fighting while being fast enough to ambush the Demo.

Uber choice is mostly about space. On the objective the enemy is basically forced to come and challenge your position, which puts them is direct close range combat with the now invulnerable heavy. That's a bad time for them. Any other time they can simply move back a few steps and the painfully slow move speed of a revved up heavy means he will never catch up to them before the invulnerable effect ends. Demoman is faster, so can force more space and/or fights during that time. Additionally, default uber is best used on an ally at low health, because you get extra value by healing their damaged health bar during the invulnerable effect. If they are actively taking damage even better, as your enemy will waste whatever damage they launch at him before realizing that he is now invulnerable.

To explain the basics of Demoman. Yes, Demoman can be damaged by his own explosives and knocked back by them. This can be used like the Soldier's rocket jump to perform sticky jumps, but also means hitting a pipe or detonating a sticky near you risks your own life. As for their weapons, the grenade launcher is their primary. It fires grenades that arc and explode on hitting an enemy or after a set time, but will bounce and roll off walls and the floor instead of exploding the way a soldier rocket does. This bouncing property means you have to be very dead accurate to get any damage at close range. Their arc and bounce can let them hit around obstacles and corners though, which give them interesting side uses. Their secondary is the sticky bomb launcher. It's meant to set stickies on a surface and then detonate them manually later. Stickies do not detonate if the player dies, they simply disappear. The stickies can be used as a trap device or as a direct weapon since the arm time isn't that long. Because where it detonates is more controlled, it's often used as much as a primary as the grenade launcher. They can also be charged to fire farther and their arc lets them go around some obstacles. So a committed demo can bombard lots of places that other classes can't hit. This means that the Demo is the most powerful aoe damage dealer at medium ranges and he can easily plough through an entire frontline or smash through a sentry nest. Like Soldier, he's a great pick for an uber since he can deal out extraordinary damage if he can fire unmolested into the enemy team. But unlike soldier who can fire rockets at the floor to trigger splash damage or change to a shotgun, Demo tends to struggle badly with fast enemies who are up close or airborne. Demo and Soldier tend to actually be better offensive uber picks because they can do aoe damage to deal with the whole enemy team and they are mobile, able to quickly get to the front line. Heavy has amazing sustained single target damage, but he's very immobile so he won't get far when he is ubered and he doesn't do aoe and he's not as effective at clearing out sentries (the miniguns actually have a damage penalty against sentries).

To the question of why Pyro is the jury in the court bit, it's because besides Airblasting the Lvl 3 Sentry Rockets Pyro has almost no way to deal with Sentries by themselves. So they appreciate explosive classes like Soldier or Demo taking out the sentries.

There is one thing Demoman can do that resembles the tire. This forbidden technique is known as Caberknight. By combining the explosive power of the Ullapool caber with the crit of a shield charge, Caberknight can wipe out half the enemy team in a single swing of his melee. The Ullapool caber is a german hand grenade that the demoman uses as a club. The first hit will cause an explosion, dealing masive damage to both the demo and whoever else is unfortunate enough to be in the blast. Caberknight also uses either the chargin' targe or the splendid screen in place of a sticky launcher. Both shields provide demo with the ability to perform a 1.5 second charge that sends him barreling forward faster than Usain Bolt. Charging will cause your melee weapon to be crit boosted, dealing either a mini crit or a full crit depending on the duration of the charge. Unfortunately, the Ullapool caber deals normal damage during a charge if you swing during the part where it would mini crit, but it can still perform a full crit if your charge was long enough. By charging in with the caber, Caberknight is able to deal enough damage to liquefy a heavy along with whatever other poor saps happen to be nearby. Oh, and you asked if the demo deals more damage up close like junkrat. Demo deals more damage at mid range. Up close, demo has to deal with self damage and the arm time on his stickes. At long range, demo has to "charge up" his stickies to increase their projectile speed and it takes over 4 seconds to reach full charge. The demo also has to worry about the arc on his grenades and stickies and the fact that his grenades explode before they reach long range. At mid range, demo doesn't have to worry about a thing. But that's not the question you asked. You were asking if demo has ramp up or fall off on his grenades or his stickies. The grenades will always deal 100 damage on a direct regardless of distance. The grenades explosion will deal as little as 50 damage at the very edge of their blast radius. Sticky bombs have a base damage of 120 damage and will deal 120 damage if detonated directly underneath an enemy player's feet and as little as 60 if they were at the edge of the blast radius. However, if a sticky bomb is detonated during the first 5 seconds of its life, the explosion will be subject to rampup and fall off, causing a perfect sticky bomb to deal up to 144 damage if detonated inside the demoman and as little as 64 damage if detonated underneath someone who is standing 64 feet away from the demo. And we can cut that in half to 32 if they were also at the edge of the explosion. In short, the grenade launcher deals the same damage no matter what. The sticky bomb launcher deals the same damage if you are patient. And lastly, we have your question about sticky bombs and what causes them to detonate. There are three situations in which a sticky bomb will explode. Firstly, we have manual detonation. If you havy any sticky bombs active and armed, right clicking will cause all of them to detonate. Except for the scottish resistance sticky bombs. Only the bombs you are looking at (i.e. within a decent sized circle in the middle of your screen) will det when you right click. Secondly, demo can only have a certain number of sticky bombs active at a time. If the demo exceeds this limit, the oldest active sticky bomb will automatically detonate. For stock and the quickie bomb launcher, this limit is set to 8, while the scottish resistance (again) raises the limit to 14, and the sticky jumper reduces the limit to 2. Now the only reason I know that the oldest bomb waits until its armed to detonate is because of the sticky jumper. Since you can only lay two bombs out with the jumper, it becomes fairly easy to lay that limit exceeding bomb before the first one arms itself. And lastly, the third way a sticky bomb can detonate is for the fuse to expire. Yeah, that's right. Sticky bombs have a fuse. VALVe got a little bit lazy when programming the Demoman and only created a grenade projectile and gave it to both the grenade launcher and the sticky bomb launcher. Now most of the variables that went into the grenade were fine. You can change the detonation mode and replace the model without a problem. The damage and explosion radius were variables the sticky bomb was going to need anyways. But the fuse timer? We can't have a sticky bomb blowing up on its own now can we? But unfortunately, that variable can only take a number. Feeding in false would only cause a not a number error, so rather than causing the game to crash anytime he shoots a sticky bomb, VALVe instead put a stupid large number in that variable to keep sticky bombs from detonating durring a match. So, how long will you have to wait for a sticky bomb to detonate on its own? An hour? A day? A week? A month? A year? A decade? A century? A millennium? Well I'll tell you this. The heat death lf the universe will only be a blink of the eye to a sticky bomb. Then again, a TF2 server starts having problems if it hasn't had a map change for 6 months, so I don't think a sticky bomb will even get the chance to see a fraction of a percent of its fuse timer expire.

Sticky bombs can technically detonate after being in the ground for too much time, but that time is so long that the server literally cannot process it, and even if it could im pretty sure the server implodes if a single match lasts too long. So for literally every situation that could ever happen, you have to manually explode them

Demoman and Soldier are usually the best go-tos for an Uber, provided they know what they're doing. In more chaotic, messy situations a Pyro isn't a bad choice either. Heavies are actually the worst choice for an Uber lots of times, ESPECIALLY on offense, and the main reason for that is because of how slow they are - they're not often in a position where an Uber would tip the scale in any meaningful way. If the Heavy is already on or close to the objective, then yeah, perfectly reasonable choice, but those situations are usually pretty few and far between. Ubering a Heavy really only works when that Heavy is already in position to rip people to shreds, or is about to be - it only lasts 8 seconds, and that's too little time to waste on someone who isn't going to do any significant damage with it. Also, yes, Lazy did in fact get drunk for this XD He explains a bit more in the Extras follow-up.

Off the top of my head, there's the Weapon/Item Stereotypes series, as well as the Team Service Announcement videos you could do. Especially the TSAs, they're fairly short (maybe five minutes at the most).

Doing Demoman gameplay And of course the Stickybomb Things: If Demoman Dies before he detonates his stickybombs they fizzle out and do no damage And of course sticky jumping is a real thing, but it takes a good chunk of hp

the reason heavies tend to get ragdolled by pipes and not gibbed? Gibs only happen if a certain amount of overkill damage is dealt. Pipe bombs from the grenade launcher do 100 damage, and heavy has 300 hp. So three clean pipes in his face and he's ragdolled, not gibbed.

25:15 I'd say the reason Overwatch's characters don't "bully" each other is that the devs tend to balance the characters around being combat generalists. Most characters in Overwatch have a decent damage output, allowing most characters a decent chance of winning a 1v1 with most other classes. Contrast that with TF2, where many of the classes are powerful specialists. Demoman has projectiles, *and only projectiles,* and those projectiles have very hard and distinct downsides. Demoman can be a combat monster, but his power is over a particular domain - mid-range combat, siege-breaking, area denial and crowd-control. But Sniper is the king of long-range combat, and Scout is the king of short-range combat. Both are well-equipped to push Demoman out of his comfort zone, and into THEIR comfort zone, where they can destroy him. Or compare Engineer and Torbjorn. Engineer is super-specialized, being all about setting up and maintaining powerful support buildings. But his offensive arsenal is limited in its power. In a straight 1v1, an Engineer will most likely lose against 4 of the game's 9 classes (Scout, Soldier, Demoman and Heavy). An Engineer's role is one of backline support, entrenching positions, fortifying territory, and providing his allies with safe zones that they can retreat into. Engineer needs to surround himself with other players, both for protection and so he can act as a force multiplier. If an enemy player is fighting Engineer 1-on-1, something has gone seriously wrong. Meanwhile, Torbjorn is all about fighting enemy players, controlling space through direct combat, and buffing himself and his allies so they can attack better. His turret feels like an accessory to his combat power, rather than the anchor of his toolkit. Torbjorn is nowhere near as specialized as Engineer, so he can fight most other classes on a level playing field. Which also means that there isn't a massive power difference between Torbjorn and most other classes. No-one is so much stronger than Torbjorn that they can "bully" him.

some words of advice about the game, at 4:20 thats a domination line, which is what happens when you kill a player 4 times in a row, uber also isnt infinite, it runs out after around 10 seconds of usage. also demoknight is a subclass where they equip a sword, shield, and boots, its a fun subclass but has many hard counters, just so yknow in case you were confused over such
