i love that this is his favorite album. Epic. I'd love to see him cover a few XiuXiu, particular Apistat Commander and/or Suha. DO IT!

Was listening to A Promise earlier today at work on a whim and wondered whether there was any Owen connection. Of course there is! I'm not at all surprised that it's his favorite album. "Campy self-evisceration" is a good way to describe the genre a some of my favorite artists (Owen, Parenthetical Girls, etc) fall into. And is also quite an apt 2-word summary of Heartland.

Nice to see that Moondog LP peeking out. I'd bet that had a minor role in influencing Spectrum 14th century and Heartland. It probably sits comfy enough next to A Promise :).

it's weird having Owen and Jarvis being 2/5 of my favourite lyricists... never heard him mention pulp before... wonder what he thinks of Neil Hannon...
