The right wing completely dominate the media in our country. Especially the print paper which is where the older generation particularly get their news. The right wing media finds a way via mental gymnastics to blame Labour and the left for everything the tories and rich have done to destroy this country.

Unfortunately we have a lot of people who are pretty dim and don't go beyond their own simple opinions that they can't justify beyond a single question.

I think most ppl anywhere for their political opinions and allegiances quite early in life and then hang on to those beliefs for a long long time without really looking at the current reality and whether their beliefs still hold true. Kinda like how we form our musical tastes in our emotional teenage years and then close our minds off to the merits of any music that comes after. Only interacting with like-minded ppl in your own community certainly doesn’t help. Like how ppl in the US who vote Republican would rather “eat a pork sandwich served in an ashtray” than vote Democrat, regardless of facts

But it is better to the preferred option of neoliberal capitalists which is authoritarian governments operating at the behest of multinational corporations and with all services being privatised, including the police but, possibly, excepting the armed forces.
