Thank you for acknowledging that Owls were an indie rock band and not an emo band.

Well, Joan of Arc has a new album, just out. it isn't the same people as are in Owls, but all 3 dudes besides Tim have been in & out of the JOA personnel lineup, e .g., on LIFE LIKE, Joan of Arc was made up of Tim, Vic, Bobby Burg (B) and Theo Katsaounis (D). The new album kicks major ass!!! It's on Joyful Noise & is called He's Got the Whole This Land is Your Land in His Hands. But, FYI, Owls doesn't just sound like Joan of Arc by another name. Same with Tim's other project, Make Believe. Each band is unique in its own ways. Still, if you like Owls, you should dig JOA!! (and Make Believe!)

Joan of Arc is Tim K's main project (all 3 other Owls members have been in & out of JOA's rotating, revolving door personnel lineups); in 2001, These 4 up there did one album, OWLS, which kicks ass! But soon after, it was back to JOA, when they were making some of their best albums (The Gap, In Rape Fantasy & Terror Sex We Trust, Joan of Arc, Dick Cheney, Mark Twain (their debut on Polyvinyl Recs., but they've gone w/Joyful Noise for their new 1 & before 2003, they were releasing stuff for Delaware's Jade Tree Music)...Hope you check out Make Believe, another Tim K project: they've done 3 albums, all of which are dynamite!!!

I like the zoomed in quality!

I saw nothing wrong with the way it was filmed. Being sensitive to camera angles, lighting, etc. I would've found it funny, strange, not "ha-ha" if I'd seen something wrong with the way the filming went. I kind of liked the close-ups better than if they'd showed the show from the audiences POV. This is the cool thing about having the show filmed: you get to be "with" the camera, following the various members around (even if it is mostly Tim we see; well, it's his band, his bat & ball, ya know what I mean??) Love watching Vic play: a great player but he had the perfect deadpan expression, all the while playing those chords & notes so seemingly effortless! This really is the best way to see most bands: at a nice, intimate club somewhere, instead of at some goddamn stadium or basketball arena, etc. A venue not a club is OK for shows that has a capacity of, maybe, 2000 persons? maybe 2500? But, e.g., the last time I went to a big-ass stadium to see a band was in 2003, when I saw Radiohead play in Chula Vista (San Diego county). I love Radiohead and since they don't play gigs that often, I just had to get tix & see them play (I bought tix ahead of time cuz I knew it would sell out, which, I'm pretty sure, it did!) one other "big amphitheater-style setting" show I saw before I saw Radiohead, was when I won 2 tix on the radio (when I still lived in San Francisco) to go see Prince play at the Shoreline Amphitheater, in Mountain View. The coolest part of the Prince show was at the end, when Carlos Santana, who lived nearby, anyway, got up onstage & jammed w/Prince on 2-3 songs!! Other than that, though, the BEST shows I've seen have all been at bars/clubs as well as some venues (e.g., when I saw King Crimson play at the State Theater in Minneapolis in 1995- GREAT SHOW!!!).
