Looked this up immediately after guy martins average speed record in his own transit van. They replaced the engine and tuned it to 690bhp, looked and sounded sick.

Absolutely lovely van. Had many vans in the past & I have to say the ford transit sport is the best. Great video, would be great if you did one for the mk8 sport. Have driven one & all I can say is wow. An amazing machine.

The latest Transits are actually quite fast in the straights when they go for it

Bloody nice van

Great looking van, but I have seen loads of them with knackered engines after remaps.You also need to make it a must to upgrade all the security of these as they are to easy to steal and I mean these can be stolen and driven away with absolutely no damage what so ever in less than a few minutes.

is the same engine not in the modern diesel modeo?? sounds very similar when you hear them on the road....or when they are lying broken in the gutter of a motorway.nice van tho sounds mint

This is definitely my favourite Transit. The Custom is a bit of a let down for me

It hasn't got spec its a base model sport. And it's only a heated driver seat not them all. Mine has leather,satnav,parking sensors,drls all from factory

new transit looks shit give me this mk6 or a mk5 all day even the 58 plate st500 is the best looking car for the money (panther black with full black heated leather seats & electric pack and sony mp3 player) I sent the chasis number to ford in Germany to get the st500 badges for it cos they didn't have them fitted at the factory 500 units special edition the new fiesta and focus is a step backwards styling wise and all the RS fans right back to the mk3 escort rs 1600i @ almost (285BHP) would agree revo knuckles are amazing but not the answer never mind the question but the 4wd is the key that's why the mk5 & 6 escorts have a special place in our lives converted to 4wd it becomes amazing.I had a t280 53 reg and it really worked for a living only to be rotten all over suspension mounts front and back sills (inner and outer) inner wings outer wings seatbelt mounting points floor panels engine mounts, £950 for welding alone guy said yes it can be done but I really don't want to do it cos there's nothing left to weld to everything would be cut out and back till there was fresh metal and build up by hand doing all the sheet metalwork by hand!!! and yet all electrics and engine would start first time every time never let me down and I still dream of a 4wd transit cosworth mmmmmmm.
