I’d say the first was better in some aspects. Felt like the sequel was missing a few things to really pull it all together.

Great review! The first game kind of came out of nowhere for me, and I loved it. It might have even been your review that brought it to my attention. The dialogue system was so interesting, and frankly, better than any AAA game I had played. To this day it has some of the most natural sounding conversations I've ever heard in a game. I'll definitely have to check this one out... after I'm done with some of the stuff I couldn't resist on the Steam summer sale.

Just finished the game and honestly it didn't leave as big of an impression on me as the first game did. Once the credits rolled I was just glad it was finally over and I have no desire to replay it. Which was not the case for Oxenfree 1. I immediately wanted to do a full replay right then and there.

The interrupt system is truly something special in this game, it feels like one of the bigger improvements from the first Oxenfree. Just, something about how smooth the writing is handlen in these interruptions is so incredibly well done.

.... I was disappointed but honestly only because I enjoyed the first one so much. It also makes sense because they're not *on* Edward's Island there's a lot fewer anomalies to play with.

@jackoberto9053 yes it is strange. Especially as there is pretty much no marketing for the games on Netflix itself I didn't know the game was on there other than randomly stumbling into it. But if Netflix is in the mobile market, it would be great to see more large story based games like this.

Completely agree with this review, this is a phenomenal game with some faults that keeps it from exceeding the first game. The latter half of the plot hit me like close encounters of the third kind, when they showed Dreyfus in the spaceship, and in both cases it would’ve faired better without the addition to the plot.

Just finished it. I liked it, and the happy ending was nice, but the first game was 100% better. No contest. That’s okay, though. Very difficult to make a perfect game twice.

I actually enjoyed this one a little more than the first, the characters, their more adult struggles and the themes of being stuck in life and wanting more kinda got to me. Also nice how they wrapped Alex's story a little more even if it was a little quick to do so. Both games came out at a time where its themes both really spoke to me which is kind cool.

I'll get it on PS5 but I like having game sequels on the same platform so a bit put off it's not available for SX, not exactly a looker and this one is near identical, I'm sure the ESG woke score is rammed into it but that's Netflix for you I suppose.
