Anil Agarwal is the founder and Chairman of Vedanta Resources Ltd, a company he transformed from its initial beginnings as a scrap metal business. His company was the first Indian firm to be listed on the London Stock exchange. As part of his philanthropic mission, the Vedanta foundation has partnered with the Ministry of Women and Child development to modernise many child care centres throughout India. Additionally, the group has invested US$49.0 million into building hospitals, schools and infrastructure, working with charities to improve the livelihood of over 4.1 million people. He has personally pledged to donate 75% of his family’s wealth to charity.

@@baazinews1027 First of all, Go tell Forbes instead of crying about it on the internet. Forbes, a magazine whose job it is to go into specifics to calculate net worth of people, came to a figure of close to $2 billion. Vedanta ltd (a listed entity in India) might be worth 18 billion, you have failed to account for the byzantine structure of Vedanta. Secondly Vedanta resources is NOT the same as Vedanta ltd. The 61.7% stake you've cited is what Agarwal used to own of Vedanta resources when it was listed in London. You've also failed to account for debt and how much of this equity has been pledged towards debts. It ain't just Volcan too, Twinstar. Again, you need to do some more research, then take your research and findings to Forbes and talk to them about it instead of sitting on here crying to me. All i did was take the headline figure put up by forbes.
