I think you saved my life! I've watched your 4 videos going through the steps of cellular respiration. I was a little hesitant because of the length (one was almost 30 minutes) but it was WELL worth my time. I feel much more confident in my understanding of this craziness now. Thanks!

In regards to the total ATP, most books and studies are using 2.5 for NADH and 1.5 for FADH2 for ATP produced. 32 ATP is what you get from 1 glucose molecule that has gone through glycolysis and the TCA. There is an argument in regards to the shuttle system that the NADH's from Glycolysis use to enter the membrane into the mitochondria. Depending on that, some believe it can 1.5 or 2.5 ATP worth based on the shuttle for those 2 in particular. So at the end of it all, you are getting 30 - 32 ATP based on what shuttle the NADH's from glycolysis used to enter the mitochondria.

It's realistically 30 ATP per one glucose molecule as yields are: NADH = 2.5 ATP and FAHD2 = 1.5 ATP

Good video, though I would have liked to see more of the exact stoichiometry during ETC proton pumping(saying each complex involved in pumping pumps 1 proton is a bit misleading). Thanks for the disclaimer at the end about the ATP equivalence of the reduced cofactors(NADH/FADH2); my book/instructor is using 2.5ATP/NADH and 1.5ATP/FADH2, which would give 32 ATP/glucose per complete cycle. Overall, very clear explanation of what the ETC accomplishes!

I was kind of confused on how you got 10 NADH (at the end of the video when adding everything together) but I got it! haha Thank you so much!

can you help fill in the blank? As the electrons are transferred through the ETC (electron transport carrier) from NADH and FADH2 to oxygen, hydrogen ions (H+) are pumped from______ to _____of the mitochondrion
