Great tool, just bought it. I noticed many people stating how difficult it is to switch from blade to blade. It was a bit challenging at first, but as I looked at the design carefully the pieces fit perfectly without a hassle. It is all in the technique. Tip: When reinstalling a v-blade, put the corners in first near the bottom, once the touch the base press the v-blade into place. Have fun.😆

I agree with the reviewer who said the blades ARE NOT easy to change. Also, once I take out the main blade to wash it, it is next to impossible to replace it. I'm here trying to find directions on how to do it. I usually try for 15 min. and then it miraculously fits in place and I can never replicate it without a struggle!

Thank you so much. I have trouble following the still photos in the instruction booklet that came with my handy Oxo Good Grips V=Blade Mandoline Slicer. I love it.

Thanks so much for this demo! I had a difficult time with the written instructions, but with this demo I was able to finally figure out how to use the julienne blade :-)

Just got this it's fantastic easy to use slices great reading some of these comments on this is funny It's not hard to use or change the blades I didn't even read the instruction book it took me 2 min to figure out how to use it it slices super thin I tried cauliflower on it sliced it like it was nothing so thin super impressed though with fruits or veggies that have a lot of water to them like tomatoes the juice tends to get on the blades stored underneath that's really the only major design flaw but other then that very impressed with this mandoline

Agree, not hard to operate. However, it’s very difficult to read your comment without any punctuation. It’s all running together.

Thanks for this, very clear and to the point. The written instructions that come with the product are just about the worst I have seen in a while.

This video was very helpful, as there were no instructions on how to open and use blades

Great, I could not figure this out from the instruction "PICTURES". What's the matter, no one knows how to 'write' instructions anymore. Will you be posting more on how to do other vegetables? I sliced my zucchini length wise on the largest setting and then grilled them on my stove top on a grill pan with that mat they sell on QVC that food does not stick to but it still makes great grill marks without the cleaning part on the grill. You just clean the mat! Love those. I would like to see a video with carrots or potatoes.

I just bought one and this thing is complicated as hell.

What's your opinion of the OXO V-blade Mandoline Slicer now that you've had it for 4 years? Do you still think it's complicated? Do you use it less because it's complicated or for any other reason? Is it a quality product? If used as recommended, is it safe? Is it easy to clean? Does it take up much space? Have the blades remained sharp over time? After years of ownership, what is the most relevant thing you would say about the product now?

@@RedondoBeach2 well I am here to Agee with Salem feathers......OXO needs to keep in mind they are competing with a knife. It needs to be that simple. It isn’t.
@RedondoBeach23 жыл бұрын
@@djdudemanhey Clearly there's more involved than slicing with a knife. However, does it perform well for what it is: a precision slicing tool built for speed?
@djdudemanhey3 жыл бұрын
@@RedondoBeach2 once you figure out how to work it and set it up it is a tad quicker than a knife

how do you sharpen dull blade? or is the product useless when blades are dull?

I have used a v slicer about 6 times a week for 10+ years and the blade is still very sharp

Lori Turnbull yes you can. Just turn the holder after the cut for 90 degrees and repeat IT for every cut

I just noticed that they changed the mandoline during the video. You can tell by the knob and its button. It's possible that it broke during the video...lol... I would not buy this.

video was helpful in using the julienne blade, but for some reason no matter what thickness I set it on, it doesn't julienne all the way through and I have to separate the little strips by hand. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
@ashleymarie74522 жыл бұрын
Be damned sure to ALWAYS use the food holder/guard. This machine was made for slicing, and it doesn't care if it slices a tomato or your fingers. It will do both equally well! These things are dangerous as hell if the guard is not used!!
@Piccobow9 жыл бұрын
The video makes it look so easy in changing the blades. ITs NOT!!
@geniegold65459 жыл бұрын
Mscellobass you are right, I just bought this and the white V shape is really hard to get out and the julienne blades nearly cut my fingers putting it in

What a giant pain to clean and safely take apart. This video doesn't show how the components work and can be safely taken apart to clean and then reassemble. The instruction booklet is equally unhelpful. Better to use your food processor for slicing, or sharpen your knife skills to do other slices. I'm ready to throw this out.
@bobshiller94852 жыл бұрын
What a mess. This video makes it look so easy. It's not. It's hard to get the blades out etc as people have said. I wish I had read some reviews before buying this piece of crap.
