Disney's fantastical adventure "Oz The Great and Powerful," directed by Sam Raimi, imagines the origins of L. Frank Baum's beloved character, the Wizard of Oz. When Oscar Diggs (James Franco), a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he's hit the jackpot-fame and fortune are his for the taking-that is until he meets three witches, Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams), who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone's been expecting. Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late. Putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity-and even a bit of wizardry-Oscar transforms himself not only into the great and powerful Wizard of Oz but into a better man as well.

This movie had amazing colours. They enhanced them richly to great effect. It reminds me of The Wizard of Oz's use of Technicolour.

I really like the cinematography in this movie. At the beginning, it’s black and white just like in the original Wizard of Oz but when Oscar arrives in the Land of Oz, everything becomes whimsical, bright and colorful. Idk, I thought I’d just point that out.

This is not a remake. It's a prequel to the wizard of oz. This is a story 20 years before dorothy arrival in oz.

Fun Fact: Oscar's arrival is a combination of Dorothy's arrivals in Oz in the 1939 film and Return to Oz.

doing this play at school fun right i am the little girl who breaks her leg my best friend is elvonora and my other friend grace is going to be glenda the good witch she is really pretty and i wanted to be her but not really that much all the boys in my class wanted to be the oz so she drew a little piece of paper with their names on it and the the oz was finally luke luckly i was not the oz that would of been a little bit wierd i hope that we do this play soon it will be a lot of fun to do yeps

Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices That, if I then had waked after long sleep, Will make me sleep again; and then, in dreaming, The clouds methought would open, and show riches Ready to drop upon me, that when I waked, I cried to dream again.
