I recently discovered this band here on KZfaq and became an instant fan. I already notice that Julianne is improving as a musician tremendously. I could hear it most certainly in this mandolin solo. Still with that being said... The entire family is so fun to watch and listen to. It's there harmony's that impress me the most. Their harmony's can actually cause me to get a little emotional. They have a great feel for blending their voices. That's a gift that cannot be taught. The thing about a good band is what happens is the memorable ones always seem to find that player who comes in... and that new musical influence is what gives that band it's overall identity. The newcomer makes a good band into a very special band. Emmett may have been (kind of insensitively) referred to as an outsider by the host of this show. But... Say what you want about Emmett. His slide guitar (most especially his incredible ability to solo with such inspirational talent) is what has put this band on a definitive path to greatness. I sincerely love these people and who they stand for. :-I

I never knew I liked “gospel music” until I heard this family. By God this family is one the best things I’ve ever heard, such synchronization and talent and smoothness. It’s amazing. And that Emmett fellow is no outsider, he’s got something crazy good in his fingers!

What I love about the Petersens is that they sound just as wonderful in person as on their recordings. Such a clear and clean sound! We've all had bands we liked who sounded so amazing until we went to see them live and it went downhill from there, but not with the Petersens.
