Awww, Patrick lived in my hometown until he died a few years ago. He was absolutely gorgeous. He didn't have any children, but now there's Patrick Jr, who used to hang out with the elder Patrick, who no doubt showed him the Way of the Wombat at the Ballarat Wildlife Park. ❤️❤️❤️

Fun fact, when wombats are chased by predators such as dingoes, wombats have been known to run into their burrows for safety. If the predator is dumb enough to follow the wombat in, the wombat will use its’ rear end to try to crush the skull of the predator against the roof of the burrow.

Back in the 70's the motorcycle company Hodaka had a motocross model named the Combat Wombat. Interesting company and bikes.

I raced the combat wombat along with stock trail 90s. The wombat wasn't very reliable though. I couldn't kill the trail 90s though. Still miss both bikes.

I got to pet a wombat at the Australia Zoo when I was, like, 10, and I remember it being the softest fur I'd ever touched.
