The second video in my pipe bending mini series, a look at how I bend my offsets. Originally filmed for Instagram so apologies for the size.

Been working as a plumbing and heating / gas engineer for 10 years now and that has really helped me. The way i was taught at college was really long winded. This way is so much easier. Thanks pb plumber

I luv your videos, I do plumbing in our own house, went to trade school but knees were fucked by the time I finished, so more of a DIY 'er nowadays. I like your vids cos ya don't talk a lot of bollox like on other channels, very professional.

I been watching you for ages. I been a plumber since 2005 in the United States. We don’t bend pipe here and I’m extremely jealous that we do not. Seems like a much cleaner way to navigate plumbing through a structure

Makes the job cheaper too, as you’re using far less fittings.

If you engrave the tangent for your most used angles on your bender you would save alot of time. Also your mark is not centered on the bend... Lastly if your doing a 30 degree bend for lets say a 3" offset, just multiply by 2. So 3x2=6, mark your first bend then go 6" from there and mark again. Bend first bend, rotate tube and bend 2nd.

Great vid, PB. Personally I can pull these already. I am really looking forward to the next vid explaining how to pull a full crossover, because I haven't got a clue, and the pre-bent crossovers are expensive! Cheers!

Awesome video as always, it isn't the way I pull sets but it's most certainly seems easier than the way I do it, so il definitely be trying this method out! Cheers PB 🙌🏼👏🏼

As a good rule of thumb; on a 30 degree bend, the rise is twice the run...got to get across a 20mm obstacle (Rise), then the bend should start 40mm (Run) from thre obstacle - works on elec conduit.

very good video you have shown it is always good to be a little more accurate rather than guessing and end up wasting copper pipe. better to do it right the first time!

Really good video and similar to the way I do it but yours has a number of improvements that I think adopt myself when showing people. All the stuff they teach you in class are very good but not practical out on site. So it's refreshing to see an engineer not using a vice or a bendy ruler.

If I mark back for example on your 15mm pipe bender 70mm to edge of former for a 90deg bend , then for 45deg you would mark back 35mm , 30deg 23mm aprox without getting into decimals etc. My pipe bender is actually 65mm back from center of a 90deg in 15mm pipe so for me aprox 32.5 for a 45deg etc . Works for me

Hi there. A Question about crimping pipework instead of soldering, have you tried any of that work. Cheers.
@danrowe8699 Жыл бұрын
Hi Pete. When you measure the distance from the pipe in the bender to the scrap piece you hold against the former to get your measurement, you say outside to outside. But is that gap in between the two pipes? Thanks.

Hi, does anyone know how to bend flat copper pipes? I understand I'd have to stuff the flat copper pipes with, like, fine sand so that kinks won't form when bending. But is there a specific tool to bend flat copper pipes with?
@aarononeill30873 жыл бұрын
Why do you measure 35mm back so that the line is touching the former but when pulling a 90 degree bend you measure it 70mm back and don’t have it touching the former and use the pipe to line it up? Do you just use a different placement for your line if it’s a different type of bend?
@cerealkiller42483 жыл бұрын
Your marks corresponding to what size you require your bends to be, will be in different places for different bends. That’s why there’s different measurements, it’s for differing types of bends.
