Just size can not be taken as a factor here, we also need to consider the electronegativity. Yes, Al is a bit larger than Ga but electronegativity of Ga is greater than Al so it accepts the electrons better. Overall, that's my explanation, maybe could be wrong. But, it's chemistry and experimental so you know hehe :3

1:30:40 I have a doubt, Pb is more stable in +2 state right? Then how come it doesnt react with I4 ?? I mean if I4 can reduce Pb into +2, then thats good for Pb right?
