Summary of the story of Maliang Maliang's magical brush is a chinese kids story, about some orphaned dude called Maliang who chops wood and cut grass for a living. He also likes drawing, but has no paint brushes for doing so. One day he passes by a school, and saw the governor of his county there. He asked the governor, who was writing for a pen so he could draw. The governor laughed at him, and called him a broke peasant kid. That night he had a dream and got a magic brush in that dream where whatever he drew could come to life. Governor heard about this, locked him up to try get the brush off him. But he escaped and eventually ended up in the capital and royal court, where the emperor took his brush to try paint gold bars and mountains of money. He was mid at drawing though so he had to ask Maliang to draw him a money tree, who drew him an island with a money tree on it, then a boat for the emperor to go to the Island. The emperor got on with all his family and court officials. Once they got on, Maliang drew waves, storms etc and the ship sunked, everyone drowned. Then Maliang left and wandered the world, drawing for poor people. Nice story huh.
