有一隻 grout 是 water resistant for all weather indoor shower area or outdoor 都合用、你可以用來 fill backyard D pavers bricks D gaps, 希望田補後會安全D、pavers 之間的峯利位 變 smooth d。另外 pavers 也可以 paint 的, terracotta 色不錯👍🏻
Long time haven’t viewed your videos hope you are well and enjoy your time with family members Good luck and healthy Luke

Thanks for your explanation in details by using a real case to illustrate each step to us. I prefer to pave by myself in simple way in the backyard instead which is cost saving. Anyway, your professional advice I gain so much and appreciate your presentation.

The contractor is doing the right thing by lowering the grass area, because the stone facade on the house is supposed to be 6 inches above ground. The brick wall on the other side of the house is touching the ground which would never pass inspection in Canada.

Unfortunately in this current climate, everything in the construction trade is expensive, but certain areas in this project does seem expensive. Personally, I would have given the shed a bit more clearance at the rear for future maintenance.
Were you wearing rain boots in the video? it looks very nice. What brand and where you buy it?

I see more problems with the house itself than the landscaping work. I can elaborate more in the future when I have time, but for now I just want to point out that at 17:00 the sand is obviously not the right type. For pavers you should use polymeric sand 胶砂。
My suggestion for home owners that are doing patio stones all across their house front yard should put a pipe or conduit under it from one end to another. You will find it very useful later for pulling cables across because you don't need to dig out the stones.
Waterproofing isn't the most common in the UK because it can be slip hazard too. Especially in the winter. I think it's the mortar was too low.

迦嵐,亞偉,我畧懂斜坡設計。原先可能為當地擋土牆設計的一種。若是我,我不會移走。其原理是Cantilever piling or sheeting. 類似插支鉛筆入泥土,當外露鉛筆部份受到上坡推土壓力,全靠埋藏的部份產生Action and Reaction, 與及防止過份位移。現只做兩條横担,產生不了什麼擋土牆作用。
Home owners need to do their homework before calling a contractor for a quote. I would remove a little area of rocks from the garden to check the soil condition because sometime builder will dump all building waste in the backyard and cover them with rocks so top soil will be asked to be included in the quote for growing grass. The retaining wall beam are screwed in straight , that means there is sometime in place to support the wall from the back side. Also pressure treated wood should be used. The contractor used the original base without levelling them first because the job didn't include relevel the base. The second part regarding the drainage, the slope of the patio stones should be away from the house instead of towards the house.

No matter where or which country you are when you need to some kinds of repair or home improvement always get a few different quotes. Western countries also have lots of cowboys around. In UK for my experiences the best is ask people around for recommendations. I started living at UK since 1984 and saw far too many cases like this. Or otherwise the best is asking you home insurance company to recommend anyone do the job for you. For those many a bit expensive but at least if any problem you can chase them.

Hi Thanks for the great videos ….. May I ask a question regarding paving works in front garden? Similar to the video, I will also be doing something similar to the front garden but I builder said that since there will be cars parked at front garden, the sub base should be made up of reinforced concrete which is very costly. I see lots of front gardens with bricks finishing are just granular sub-based. Please can you advise if the reinforce concrete really necessary and how should I respond to the builder ? Thanks 🙏
@Dancerc2 жыл бұрын
You don't need reinforced concrete, sounds very strange! Beware

Thank you - Canaan…. Btw I am currently based in Hk and remotely managing the works. Your videos are extremely useful to us. Thank you again🙏!
@lifeintheuk-34552 жыл бұрын
@@atklam5715 I believe it isn't a good idea remotely not unless you employ a local qualified surveyor monitor the work. No best friend nor family member not unless they are qualified builder. There's no need for reniforced concrete, it sounds your builder may not know what they are doing or it is a easy way out since you are paying for it. Good luck
For the stone slabs where the gap is thicker, it's mortar, for small Harris between brick paving, it's sand. Shouldn't get too much weed with the sand. Also can use weed removal on paving, it's very effective

No weeds if using polymeric sand. Motar will crack due to temperature changes.
Ask your neighbours for recommendations, that's normally a good start

The cost £6,500 for re-surface/tarmac and drainage the front garden is quite reasonable price, isn't it? I live in the Midlands and had a quote for just to put the picket fence around my front garden is £3,000, do you think £3,000 is reasonable or is it too much for fencing? Thanks.
@Dancerc2 жыл бұрын
Hard to say without looking at the site. There are so many factors to consider

@@DancercThanks for your reply. The quote I had was for erecting 15 of 3-foot high picket fence panels and a gate.
