I asked my daughter what her favorite game was in her PE class and she said this game. I looked it up and taught to 2nd-8th graders at my school, and they loved it! I think this will be one of their favorites. Thank you for sharing.

A good way to keep the pace of this game going is to have a safe zone in the center for both teams. Instead of having one center line, there would be a small zone in the center. [Red ][R&Y][ Yellow]

Just tried this last week at my kids school and it went over pretty well, I think. Seemed like they had fun.

Just a quick question: when you yell YOSHI, do they stop tagging each other & just run to the opposite mat or do they still tag?

No tagging, they can all just get up and mass run to the opposite mat.

What is to prevent the whole team from running at the same time to the mat? If both opposing teams do this, the game ends very quickly.

They could try that as a strategy if they want (they usually don’t) but if even one player gets tagged when they try that it would ruin their ‘strategy’
