Short story. . . back in 2000 I had to take the work van in to get an oil change, I had a greatest hits Parliament/Funkadelic tape in the player. I was a square looking light skinned hispanic about 33 at the time and when the two young black guys took the van into the shop they got blasted with the funk!!! They looked at me in shock and then looked at each other shaking their 18 year old heads. . . I had to tell them before they were born, I had heard "Tear the Roof Off the Sucker" on my school bus headed to 4th grade summer school. . . and nothing was ever the same after that! GIvin' Up the FUnK!!!!

What real music sounds like. At 11:35 trombone solo. Easily 10 people on stage all playing their part; 50% improvised chaos, 50% tight musical precision from the rhythm section. brilliant. 1:01:00 glenn goins takes everyone to church. you can't teach this. the glory of pfunk.

krizzex Hahahaha NOOOO!! big big mistake. George Clinton himself has says that JB put "The One" principle on a syncopated beat. The first truly Funk composition was "COLD SWEAT" BY JAMES BROWN IN 1967 (King records): Is clearly DIFFERENT TO SOUL music (with snare hittin at each of 4 strokes of the bar, type Motown stuff). Clearly JB hold in their repertory Soul, Jazz even Gospel , but if you don`t know that "Mother Popcorn", "Give it up or turnit loose", "Sex Machine" and "Hot Pants" is 100% Funk music then..you don`t know about MUSIC, man.

When I saw this show back in the day, it made me a bigger P-funkster than I already was, ( if such a thing were possible). I had the fortune of experiencing maybe the funkiest concert ever witnessed. Peep this lineup, Ray Parker & Radio, Slave, Cameo, Bootsy's Rubber Band & the Parliafunkadelicment Thang. That includes a blow job from the Horny Horns, the brown sugar sweetness of those Chocolate doll baby babas, The Brides of Funkenstein & Parlet. Glen Goins was taking folks to church & George Clinton was in rare funky form. They definitely tore the roof that sucka!!!!

I dont think that the band knew that Funkenstein was going to get them to play 'Music For Your Mother' at 1:23:42. Glen looked around like..Uh, okay!! :) , Then back to Thumpasaurous People. Great Great Band. They rocked the out going piece of the show.
