In October 202 B.C., Liu Bang, the king of the Han Dynasty, led his headquarters to pursue Xiang Yu, who retreated to Pengcheng. After chasing the south of Yangxia, Liu Bang ordered a suspension of the pursuit, sent envoys to contact Han Xin, Peng Yue and others, promising to share the world with them in the future, and sealed large areas of land in Linzi, Daliang and Huainan for them. Sure enough, the messengers returned one after another, and the princes were about to send troops. Soon, princes from all walks of life sent troops to attack Xiang Yu's army. Han Xin's three hundred thousand soldiers and horses went south from Qi, cutting off Xiang Yu's retreat to Pengcheng; Peng Yue led tens of thousands of soldiers and horses to Guling and Liu Bang to join forces as the main attack; Liu Jia and Ying Bu Zi Shouchun led their troops north and cut off Xiang Yu's escape road south. Seeing that the general trend had gone, Xiang Yu took eight hundred cavalrymen to break through and flee south that night. The next day, Liu Bang found that Xiang Yu broke through and left. He sent a baby to lead five thousand cavalrymen to chase him. Xiang Yu crossed the Huaihe River and continued to follow his cavalry for more than a hundred. Xiang Yu went to Yinling (now north of Dingyuan County, Anhui Province), lost his way, fell into the lake and marsh area, and was chased by the Han army. Xiang Yu led the troops and retreated to Wujiang (now Wujiangpu, northeast of Hexian County, Anhui Province), leaving only twenty-eight soldiers. There is a small boat docking by the river.
