I like the English grammar in his talks it is so perfect. The way he explained how Vidya held his hand and consoled him. He broke down but those were tears of joy and pride. Who says girls cannot be the rock of their family? They can very well be and will do it better than the boys with utmost selflessness. Kudos to these 2 father daughter duo. A progressive father encouraging his daughters to soar high. I had a doubt whether Vidya Balan is Tamil or a Malayalee... Happy to know her mother tongue was Tamil. She was rejected from Tamil movies Run (2002) and Manasellam (2003), after that she never came back to Tamil. We missed great actress in Tamil cinema.

@Right Time i dont know what varsha iyyer is saying. But Vidya Balan is a Palakkad Iyyer. They were tamil brahmins who migrated to kerala centuries ago. These people are infact malayalees only but speak tamil with malayalam mixture. There are so many people like that. That does not mean she is speaking pure tamil. Her tamil is a Palakkad tamil which is basically a confluence of tamil and malayalam. Therefore she is understand both tamil aswell as malayalam. Go surf net for further info.

Wow! Such an amazing father!! I'm such a daddy's girl and her dad reminded me of the fun things my Dad did for me. My dad was a carpenter and he made my swing set and slide. He made my childhood something that I will never forget. I thank God for the 20 years I got to have with my Dad. I miss him so much. But it's the fun memories that'll always put a smile on my face when I think of him. I love you Daddy! Thank you for everything you've done for me.

As I watched this video, I felt we had similar circumstances. I have a younger sister. During our earlier days, everyone will ask do you have brothers? only sisters? But my parents never felt anything like that especially my father. He gave us a good education and did not stop us from doing what we want. Because he trusted us. When he took Voluntary retirement from work, even we went through a similar situation. Two grown-up girls and not many savings. But we studied well and made them proud. I am thankful for all the super fathers who give freedom and space to their daughters to excel.

Thanku so much for ur movies - which is a validation to me - tumhari sulu was point on how to get back to having a job and career after motherhood - then shakuntala Devi portrayed the complex relationship of high achiever mother and her daughter so beautifully - it Is something that has never been touched upon in any cinema so far

My dad on other hand has always felt he wanted a son. but he has given us everything we need he never discriminated.(he was brought up in a family where this type of discrimination is common, so i don't blame him completely)whatever it has been,I hope to make him proud some day. am sure the day will come when he will say you are no less than a son & am happy and proud to be your dad. love you Dad
