Though I don't agree with her on many points, need to admit the eloquent speech of Mahua Moitra which is quite riveting and bring in lot of new perspective on the recent amendments brought in NIA and UAPA Acts. It's indeed true that UAPA is already vested with sufficient powers to book an individual as 'Anti-National / Terrorist' and wonder why this is needed under NIA which clearly focuses on 'Terrorist' movement/activities. Most importantly, if the Govt gets to pass these amendments in both the 'Houses', need to ensure that these are not being misused like the earlier ones viz., TADA / POTA.

English is just a language. You are still in colonial mentality. Are you saying that someone need to know english to become PM of this country. Hindi is the official language of the central govt. So it is more than enough. You should have inferiority complex that you can't be like white people . Japan, Chinese PM never know English. Still they run very good administration.

Also Hindi is second language for many states. 40-50% of percent of population knows hindi. So hindi is much more useful than english in india. I understand that you are from tamilnadu. There people english than hindi. But for other states hindi is the second langauge.
