I live in Australia and always buy Pakistani basmati rice, my favourite is falak rice. Last year suddenly i couldn't find any brand of Pakistani rice in any shop here, i asked the shop owner and he said the distributors came and took all the Pakistani brands off the shelves and replaced them with these new Indian brands of rice. I was very surprised and had a feeling that something big is being played. The same thing was happening in New Zealand. You can only find Pakistani brands in the shops here now that are of poor quality.

I m from PAKISTAN, living in South Africa since 2000, before alot of Pakistani brand of rice were imported here and Indian brand were few, and Pakistani rice were famous, around last 10 year Pakistani rice were gradually declining in import, and indian brand were flourishing, i was feeling something fishy, how sharif family was connected with some indian, and i was quiet sure indian labelling Pakistani rice as indian made, and here this video gave me proof, these indians always back stab, they are so coward they don’t have guts to confront you on your face, always try to degrade you through people like sharif family, انشاءاللہ Slowly and gradually IMRAN KHAN will tackle all these kind of hurdles and bring back PAKISTAN’s Good and respected name in the world آمین

The example of vinegar does not correlate with the rice situation. Pakistani basmati ko protected designation milni chaiye just like some other products have worldwide. Some kinds of cheeses and meats etc cannot be called that certain name since they are not produced there. It's not only because of production but also the geographical location as well as the climate etc can play a huge role in the flavor profile of that certain food. Just like the Pakistani basmati rice.

I live in USA and only buy Pakistani rice and products. Zebra is mostly available. Indian stores almost never sell Pakistani products. I am willing to buy online if cost is maintained.

یہ بات بہت حد تک درست معلوم ہوتی ہے. میں نے یو اے ای کی ایک مارکیٹ میں چاولوں کے دو تھیلے دیکھے. ایک پہ پاکستانی باسمتی لکھا تھا جبکہ دوسرے پہ انڈین باسمتی مگر پاکستانی باسمتی قدرے چھوٹا اور سفید تھا جبکہ انڈین باسمتی نسبتا میلا سا سفید جسے ہم پکی باسمتی کہتے ہیں ویسا اور قدرے لمبا تھا جبکہ کہ ہمیں معلوم ہے کہ پاکستان میں جو ہم باسمتی چاول خریدتے ہیں وہ ویسا نہیں جیسا یہاں بیچا جا رہا ہے، وہ تو انڈیا والے سے بھی اچھا اور لمبا ہے. اس طرح پاکستانی چاول کو ڈی گریڈ کیا جا رہا ہے مگر میرے خیال میں ہماری حکومت اس بارے کوئی قابل زکر اقدامات نہیں اٹھا رہی.
