Man God 汉语没有卷舌音。你说的是翘舌音吧。卷舌音只存在于俄语、西班牙语等语言里。广东话200年前全是翘舌音,消失翘舌音是最近100多年的事情。而且广东人的英语本来就不好,会英语和英语标准是两码事。所以这也是为什么南方人普通话比北方人好的原因,因为说的更标准。 还有,你突然杠一个广东话和英语干什么?这里跟这个话题一毛钱关系都没有
According to this info, Cantonese is the origin of spoken language of Chinese instead of Mandarin and 普通話. Is it real? I am guessing. It might be real!!!!! Is it a mater? I will say. It does not matter. Just let it go. This is always changing. Pushing it in order to change it that will cause more problem. After 5000 years, can you know what language you will use????? Info only.

Mandarin(滿大人) just 700 years history from Mongolian to Manchurian just 400-500years becoming popular in Northern China, in the southern China just within 50 years to force it popular(mandatory to learn and educate), for the Cantonese I am can't sure to say is that ancient Chinese but there is 2.2 thousand years (the very first records in BC218) that at least can sure to tell Cantonese having more time to sitting with ancient Chinese, and you can very easy to find Cantonese pronunciation will have more precision to spell every word in specific sound, I think that becoz in modern Cantonese is inherited so many pronunciation from ancient Chinese, becoz Cantonese culture is very active and open to adding new slang or words into it, for example when the new things appear like "TAXI" "BUS" they will translate that in to Cantonese as 的士(dik1 si2) 巴士(baa1 si2) so here can see Cantonese in very open to adding new stuffs and inherit the original pronunciation, so I no wonder Cantonese could inherited a lot of ancient Chinese pronunciation.
