Ondra Lopatka guided us through Prague's drinking fountains and compiled the most detailed map of drinking fountains in the capital called prazskapitka.cz. You can see for yourself at this link: bit.ly/3L0GS1E
Drinking spots everywhere you look
Where can you find the most famous and interesting drinking fountains in Prague?
- Franciscan Garden - there are two drinking fountains here, and the most beautiful ones in the city. The first one is a sculpture called Wild Women and Poletuchy and was created by sculptor Josef Klimeš, the second one comes from the workshop of Stanislav Hanzlík and is called Boy with a Shell.
- The lower part of Wenceslas Square - you will find here several piazzas that are quite minimalist and modern, raising the question of whether they are completely suitable for the historic centre. The most controversial in this respect is probably the drinking fountain on the corner of Jungmannova and Vodičkova streets.
- The University Zone in Dejvice - temporary drinking fountains have been installed here for the summer, which are also improved with foggers.
- Riegrovy sady - visitors will find only three drinking fountains in the whole area.
- Parukářka - no expense has been spared on the drinking fountains here, as you can refresh yourself in seven places. In addition, your four-legged friends will also be able to drink here.
- Malostranská - one of Prague's oldest drinking fountains where you can comfortably fill up your water bottle.
- Valdštejnská zahrada - here you will find a drinking fountain with Face ID. You simply can't pour water until the drinker scans your face.
- Petřín - you can refresh yourself in the famous Petřínek fountain with a view of the whole of Prague.
