The mother and son are ghosts.. they dont know that.. but strangely they are not able to see the human beings who occupied the home which is strange as usually they show as ghosts can see people but people can't see ghosts... But here the mom and son who are actually dead don't realize that and they are waiting for Suresh to return as he had told them he would return in few days. They don't go out anywhere as Suresh had asked them not to go anywhere out as nobody will accept their marriage. As they are dead, the house is rented. But the people who stay there witness ghost activities whereas the ghosts also witness scary activities as they cannot see the humans and according to them they are still alive. One day the mom when sitting in the garden of home is able to see people outside the same home and she is shocked and she doesn't understand anything. Then police enquire the people in that home and they say they witness door shutting by itself and other such strange activities. Listening to all this and seeing her own dead body in the terrace ,the mother realizes that she and her son are actually dead. She interrogates the maid about how they died and the maid explains that rajamma killed them. Later she kills rajamma. Now her husband, she and her son live alone in the ghost home as they three are ghosts.
