They understand that if the consumers dont have the funds to purchase it then they feel that even if pirated the player can still enjoy their game. The ultrakill dev is one of them who supports it

Good subscription models do that. Netflix and HBO Max severely reduced the need for pirating shows, and iTunes and Spotify practicaly killed music piracy. But as always, big corpos can't be happy with LOTS of money, they want ALL THE MONEY IN THE WORLD - and so they ruin their own subscription models with oversaturation, price hikes, and worse and worse services.

(Sorry if I get anything wrong) My best understanding of it is that the main (or only) method of pirated software actually doing shit to your computer is hiding malicous commands within an .exe file so that when you run it, it opens the commmand window, runs the commands, and breaks your computer

@@chaomatic5328 scene is an emo style, it started out more of as a fashion choice. I’m sure if you look up “emo scene” you’ll find it. It then also developed to art style as well- “emo scene art”

@@chaomatic5328 So, idk how to really describe it, but when people are talking about scene, it’s usually like a sort of emo/Alt style of clothing that involves black and brightly colored clothes, with lots of accessories. I might be wrong about this, but I think it was actually a style of music originally, but like a lot of clothing styles, it just kind of developed into a clothing style, so that’s how most people know it now. When people are talking about a Scene artstyle, think like, Invader Zim. I used to call it creepy-cutesy style, but I found that the term “scene” describes it perfectly. I think that the scene artstyle was pretty popular during the early 2000’s/2010’s, so you can look that up on google or KZfaq to find out more about it! The whole aesthetic is also very nostalgic for me, so I’m super happy I found a term for it, lol. (There was also a sort of slang or language associated with scene, probably because it was during the early 2000’s. Things like “XD”, “Rawr”, stuff like that.)

Anyways, when people are talking about a scene artstyle, think of the art you saw in this video, or Invader Zim. It’s an artstyle that typically uses bright coloring, along with black and white. While it can use curves, it is most known for having many exaggerated and sharp lines and edges. I know it best for the circle eyes and very thin bodies characters drawn in this way tend to have. It was very popular, (at least on the internet,) during the early 2000’s/2010’s, so some people will refer to it as “early 2000’s style”, or, “early 2010’s scene”. Since it was from the early 2000’s, it’s associated with slang and language like “XD”, “Rawr”, stuff like that. It’s very nostalgic for me as well! I love scene art a lot. If you want to look for more content like this, or want to learn more about it in a better way than I can explain, you can search for “scene art” or “early 2000’s scene” on KZfaq or Google, or whichever search engine you use I guess. In simple words, people's desire not to pay any money is much greater than their desire to get a specific product. If they can't pirate it, they'll just go look for a free/piratable analog. So the business doesn't get any money from these people anyway. However if they do pirate it, the product bacically gets free advertising from the pirates.
